Yes. The whole new region formations look bad, and often irrational (the south islands are the best example of that; Rhodes can't be governed from Hermoupolis which is next to Athens).

Well, they are so-called 'peripheries', replacing the previous prefecture-regions (or something like that; those were a few tens).
The actual historic regions also exist, but i think not with any actual governing organization to tie them (as a periphery). Those are the obvious (far more recognisable) following:
