Ares' little color conversion workshop

Wow Ares! I don't know how you do your recolors but they look like you must have borrowed the original model and done some new renders. They look immaculate!

All in the pallete. I made the colors smooth enough and arranged so it would be easy(er) to do.

Thank you for your request, Tank Guy. I'm not sure if I can manage to do this recolor to your satisfication. I'll have to go and try before I can make any promises.

Any effort is greatly appreciated. So whether or not it works, thanks! :goodjob:

Link isn't working. :(

Anyway, there will be some international M5 Stuarts, Chinese / Korean IS-2s, some more desert conversions for Steph and some units for EJ and his excellent Cold War scenario (maybe for the next update) ;)

Links working for me :)

All these conversions make me wonder- do you reckon there's a slight chance that, in the same way as you can use the ERAS_ tag to change unit appearance each era, you could also use the TERR_ tag to change unit appearance depending on which terrain it's on... :hmm:

EDIT: I can confirm this is a 100% definite no.

But this would be a nice idea for someone who can work with the source code. :)

That site has tons of pictures of World War II tanks. However, nearly all of them are black and white.

We don't do that Moonspeak here.

Some new tanks for you, guys!

Downloads on first page, as always. Hope you like them and have some use for these.

As always, thanks to Wyrm for the original units.

The T-26b (Chinese Army)

nationalist-t26.jpg

88 (some sources state 87) of these Soviet tanks were supplied to China between 1938 to 1939. Most were formed into the 1st tank regiment that was assigned to the newly forming 200th Infantry Division, the only motorized infantry formation in the Chinese Army at that time. Weight: 10.5 tons. Armament: One 45 mm gun and one bow mounted MG. Some had a second MG for AA purposes.

The IS-2 (Chinese and Korean Army)

Chi-JS2-Korea.jpg

North Korean IS-2 tanks were used in the Korean War. A regiment of Chinese IS-2s was available for use as well, but saw no service there.

After the Korean War, China had attempted to reverse-engineer the IS-2/IS-3 as Type 122 medium tank. The project was cancelled in favour of the Type 59, a copy of the Soviet T-54A.
