Ask an Israel-American

Do you really think Bachman (who I don't like), would even conceive of a Holocaust?
Isn't she noted for being Pro-Israel due to being evangelical?

Can you explain the importance of the following regions in terms of tactical or strategical importance:
Gaza Strip
Golan Heights
Southern Lebanon

Did you hear about Israeli spy's stealing identity's of handicap new zealand children?
I guess so they can sneak about doing assassination and stuff in other countrys that are friendly to new zealand but not Israel.

I think i heard about the same thing happening with Canadian and British passports as well. Now every time a New Zealander/Canadian/Brit goes to a muslin country they are in danger.

How do you feel about Israel attacking friendly country's like this?

You think your country doesn't provide its spies with fake IDs from other countries?
Israel hardly has a monopoly on this...

She was just the first politician I could think of off the top of my head. No hate.

Gaza Strip: Close to many large Israeli settlements (Ashdod, Ashkelon, Rehovot, etc.) and many rockets are fired at them. With a majority of Palestinians and currently ruled by Hamas, a terrorist organization, who kidnapped Gilad Shalit.

Golan Heights: Very strategic. It's much higher geographically than the rest of the Galilee and therefore an excellent spot for invasion/attack. Also, lots of farmland. Currently in Israeli hands, though many think it will become Syrian for peace.

S. Lebanon: Geographically, it is roughly the same height as the higher parts of Galilee, and is controlled by Hezbollah, another terrorist org. You can see Hezbollah war flags from my grandparents kibbutz!!!! Very scary! Also, many rockets were fired from here to Israeli settlements in the north in 08.

Sorry to hear about that. Israel seems to have a bad reputation when it comes to this stuff, but you can't say were the only ones. Weren't Russian spies recently discovered in the US? I suppose when you''re a country surrounded by nothing but enemies instead of ocean (New Zealand) or Canada ('Merica), you get preeeetty paranoid .

If they do they don't get caught, hurting the other country. Plus no body hates new Zealand so we don't need fake passports.

Also mosad was up to some mischief during the christchurch earth quake.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by theocracies. Do you mean like Saudi Arabia or Jordan (theocratical monarchies) or more like Egypt pre-Arab Spring with a President-For-Life?

Theocracy: A government ruled by or subject to religious authority.

Do you support Islamic theocracies?

But Israel as a 'Jewish state' only for Jews, etc. etc. isn't exactly based on tolerance.

How can a country that's law is based upon a specific religion practice tolerance? And are you really fine with the Islamic Republic of Iran?

I didn't mean only for Jews, I meant with Judaism as the state religion. Doesn't mean there can't be other religions present.

As long as those laws aren't too extreme and other religions are tolerated they're fine. In Iran, I don't think other religions are tolerated.

Once again, heavily biased. But I'd like to add the fact that there are a multitude of Muslim countries, but only one Jewish state.

I never understand what sense that makes !!! I mean there are also 100 more mulims than jews!!! there are also many more Tamil speakers than Hebrew speakers, why are the former without a proper country and the second with one?

Question: What would be the peace plan you'd support? what are the Israeli concessions you will support in order to have peace (Jerusalem division, Refugees? Golan? settlements? borders? nature and "right"s of the futrure Palestinian government?) ?

Bogus argument is bogus. Looks like Kosovo shouldn't become a state because there are already enough white people states.

This thread is ask an Israeli-American... not try to foist your personal opinion on an Israeli-American

Are the rising Haredi populations a problem?

I'd say sort of, but I don't like to say that anyone is a problem.

Have you ever tried bacon?

Well I'm not religious at all so, YES! I've stumbled upon this very simple equation: Bacon*nFat = Ecstasy.

I support two states, with the refugees either returning to their old homes or moving to locations in the West Bank. Yes, I know that there is an overpopulation problem, but I'm tired right now and can't think of a better place ATM. I would be fine with giving up the settlements. 100%. Not so sure about Golan. I think that Syria could never keep a promise, especially now.

Israeli-American vs Jewish-American vs American Jew vs Jew living in America...
Which one would you choose to describe yourself???
Cause it shows a great deal about the person's priorities...
Whatever...

I consider myself Israeli first, then American, then Swiss (on my mother's side) then Jewish. I'm not THAT connected to my Judaism though I know the basics.
