Well the indians i think would be good at pataliputra place (the one in 600 ad) and the Chinese at Louyang. Thanks, really appreaciate it. :thanx:

Wait, just for the 600 AD spawn? I would think you'd want it for 3000 BC too, no?

EDIT: Oh an this might not be as simple as I thought. This might interfere with some Indie city spawns... Leoreth/ other programmers, is that an issue?

Only for 3000 Bc

I want it for 3000 BC but i was tellling where Pataliputra city is (reference to 600 ad)

Thats an issue for 600 ad, i dont think changing location 3000 should be a problem

Wait, Pataliputra spawns on turn 1 in 600 AD right? In that case I'd just have to see if I can do the flip-on-spawn business that is done with the Byzantines so that it becomes India's capital on turn 1.

Any chance we could get the fast worker scrapped for India and replaced with a military unit like the Rajput?

The worker always seemed a little silly.

Just a quick note: Krawkow's like right next to Vienna. 1 NE, to be exact. A slight problem, of course. For this reason, Warsaw might be better.
Oh, I always thought it's the tile completely surrounded by mountains and rivers. That's where I'd put it anyway :)

Hey Leoreth, the Conquerors event isn't triggering for me as the Spanish. Could it have to do with the fact that I'm Zoroastrian (funny story) or that I'm doing a 3000 BC start?
Maybe you're there too early? A savegame would be helpful (before you reach America).

Why can't it be the other Indie?
Because Venice and Rome are two different factions :)

Rajput, yeah ... I was already tempted to add the Mughal cannon elephant from SoI to be honest :)

Version 1.71 now available in the download database.

Changes compared to 1.7:
Spoiler :
  • reduced Constantinople's starting culture
  • Arabia now flips Jerusalem, Memphis, Alexandria and Tisfun in 640 AD
  • Byzantine 600 AD spawn date now properly displayed
  • renamed Alexandretta to Antiochia
  • rearranged resources in Anatolia (removed 1 wheat and 1 clam)
  • Bulgar, Cuman, Pecheneg barbarian spawns to challenge Byzantium to the west and north
  • Arabian UHV now erases non-state religions except holy cities
  • preplaced Tisfun/Ctesiphon/Baghdad in the 600 AD scenario
  • made Justinian less military inclined
  • nerfed several Byzantine coefficients, most prominently research, GP rate, production, city upkeep
  • reduced Byzantine likeliness to train settlers or offensive units
  • changed Cataphracts to strength 9, +25% against melee
  • removed Byzantine spearmen in 600 AD Africa
  • reduced Babylonian likeliness to train settlers
  • original Byzantine war and settler/stability maps added (replacing the former Greek maps)
  • Theodosian Walls don't create GPP anymore, Hagia Sophia now increases the chance of creating an artist
  • removed wheat, ivory near Tripolis
  • original Byzantine city name map, renaming function up to date
  • Changed Italian UP to "free specialist in your three largest cities until the industrial age"

Leoreth, I put your files into another folder, changed the name of the folder to Project SYNTHESIS, (since, as you know, I;m creating that mod) but when I attempt to run the program it tells me I have to load DoC. Why?

EDIT: Figured it out, nevermind.

Another question:

From now on, aside from posting a wholly new download, could you upload just the files you've changed? It'd make the Synthesis project much easier.

Is this 600 AD? If it is 3000 BC you just beat Phonecia with the Nerfbat hard! Could you instead have the resources disappear with the death of Phonecia?

I'm not a huge fan of the new Roman UP, I personally like the special Roman Roads, And on top of that the new one crashes my game as soon as im given the free army.
Help please?

I have started a game as Rome. I have taken Carthage without a crash using the new Roman UP, however, the first time I tried the game crashed when I tried to contact dido to make peace. I reloaded the save and took Carthage again in exactly the same way and this time I was able to successfully make peace without a game crash. However this time the game crashed when I ended turn.

I am confused as I have successfully used the roman UP without trouble in the past after you first instituted it.

Also, for some reason I can't upload files any more, what gives?

The Roman UP crash only occurs with Carthage/ Phoenicia, I believe when you capture Carthage.

I'm having the same problem (only tried with screenies though). Probably a forum bug. Wait for a few hours/ days, it should be fixed by the mods.

Leoreth, Protestants and Catholics only get a halved diplo penalty, right?

You should be easily able to do this using the SVN.

Nope, it's just in 600 AD. The 3000 BC scenario isn't affected at all, though I plan to remove them later there as well (in 600 AD).

I've not figured out what causes this yet. A savegame would be helpful.

I'm liking the new Byzantine name map.
Thanks, good to hear it was worth the effort. Bringing all those renames up to date was more work than I expected :D

Carthage again, interesting. The admins are working at the upload problem, but can you upload a save when they're done?

And another Carthage. I have not the slightest idea what's going on here, but a it's clue at least.

Protestants and Catholics are just like any other religion and get the full penalty.

How exactly does the SVN work? Does it just have new files in there?

Why do Prots. and Catholics get a full penalty? And on a side note, how does one adjust the specific diplo penalties between religions?

EDIT: Oh, and what is the difference between citylist1 and city list 2 in CityNameManager?

1. SVN keeps every revision of its repository saved, so you can make a diff of two revision numbers and see exactly what changed, down to the exact lines for all text-based files even.

2. Because my intent is to treat all religions equal in gameplay. And higher penalties means more antagonism in Europe which is among the reasons for adding Protestantism in the first place. To change that, you have to edit the DLL, though I've never bothered to look up where exactly (I suggest you look into SoI's source code to find out).

3. CityList1 is the standard city name map, CityList2 is for the respawned versions of each civ (which will probably become important for Synthesis). It's currently only used for Italy obviously, but the other entries are necessary for symmetry reasons.

Oh, and if you have further questions concerning implementation and the like, please ask them in the Synthesis thread or send me a PM, because they tend to clutter this thread too much.
