hello everyone!
What do you think of the idea of incorporating the possibility of coup in the game? for example you can foment a rebellion in an enemy empire and if the attempt succeeds, you will have better relations with the new government in place. Otherwise, it could lead to war.
The same could happen in your own empire and could add a new dimension to espionage and intelligence in the game.

That should be a very costly espionage mission then ...

How about planting a nuclear device ala Civ2?

^Haha, CivII spies were the best.
Perhaps we should just do away with the current espionage system
and use CivII spies.

Plant nuclear device would be such a costly mission though,
under the current espionage system.
I would've loved to see something like "Bribe Unit" or "Bribe City" too.

Introducing a new promotion: Moral Integrity! Unit cannot be bribed, available with combat II and Nationalism.

'Bribe Unit' was already a huge pain in the arse in Civ 2 when units of the same type were basically interchangeable with the only distinction being veteran status / support city.

Under the current system I would hate to see it back.

It was also completely absurd to lead an armoured charge into another civ only for your panzer spearheads to start changing sides.

causing internal political turmoil would be interesting, but again it would have to be extremely costly.

I'm having trouble playing the mod itself; the scenarios simply don't appear. I load the mod, open up the scenarios and there's nothing but WBQuickSave. I tried setting AllowPublicMaps to one and that gave me everything but. My apologies if this is a common question.

What happens if you try to start the scenarios directly from the PublicMaps folder?

You open it with Beyond the Sword; just find where you saved Civ 4 and use it as the program to open the map.

Yup. Under normal circumstances, simply doubleclicking should suffice actually, to start them with BtS as default.

Yes. If you have enabled cheat mode (open the config file and enter "chipotle" after "CheatMode=") you can rotate through all civs by pressing Alt+Z (or was it Alt+Y?).

Thank you! I have some comments to try to improve even more this awesome mod.
Why is it not possible to get hold of cannons and other military equipment ? A routed army would withdraw and leave behind all the heavy equipment on the battlefield.
One could also think further and consider including the prisoners of war.. It would serve inter alia as bargaining chips.

Hello everyone!
I don't know if this problem has been already discussed, but 275 pages are a lot to be read...
I've unpacked the folder in BtS/Mods; I launch the game and all seems to be ok, but when appears the first menu window there is no text!!! and i can't load anything.....:(:(:(:(
