This will be my last graphic request for a long time, I promise!

What I need is a new resource, with both civilopedia pic and the icon itself. Basically, I want an elfish-looking tree.

I'm making a little fantasy mod for myself, and I'm trying to make the elves a bit different from other elf-civs I've seen so far. That is, they don't get workers, as they respect nature too much to altar the landscape at all. Instead, they get a unique resource, a "giving tree" or "tree of life" (not sure what to call it yet), which pops up in forest areas on the map and gives them a substantial bonus to food, gold, and shields.

(Also, in case anyone was wondering, in place of roads, most of their infantry units move 2 per turn, ignore move costs of forests, and do not require strategic resources; they also get extra happiness improvements to make up for the lack of luxury resources.)

If anyone would be up to this, I would really appreciate it. Or, if such a resource already exists and I just haven't found it, you could just post a link here and I'll be happy.

Well, essentially I was thinking just a big oak tree, with lush green leaves.

Actually, I was hoping for it to not stand out against the terrain too much- rather, to blend in well with forest terrain, but still remain visable. Although I suppose if it had a glowing effect or some magic energy eminating from it somehow, that would be pretty cool... But mainly I'd like for it to remain as "tree-like" as possible.

Conceptually, the elves in my mod are very nature oriented. More like ancient concepts of the fae: mysterious, mystical beings that can be found every day in nature, if you know how to look for them.

Unfortunately i did not like it, so i erased it...
However you could ask RedAlert to create one; he already has made some nice trees for his carthaginian buildings :)

That actually gave me the idea I needed. I just dug up one of the trees from one of the "lush cities" sets, trimmed it a bit, and planted it in the resources page. Not the prettiest thing, but it works for my purposes.

If you find yourself still unsatisfied try one of Balthasar's forest sets. He has single trees in the margins of most of them.

I've actually been unable to track down anything by him. He isn't in any of the libraries I've glossed through.

I've noticed there seems to be a lot of "hidden" content on this site. Like Varwnos has more city sets than are actually in the city set library, and GhengisFarb has made more leaderheads than just that "Jessica Rabbit" one (though judging from that one, I can offer a vague guess as to why others may have been removed...)

ANYway, on to something else I've been wondering about lately... I've been using IMage to do most everything when it comes to graphic images. But lately I've found that program to be very limiting. Specifically, what I'd like is a program that can take any image whatsoever and resize it to the 128x128 used for large tech icons and 32x32 used by the small ones. If IMage can do this, I have no idea how. Is there a simple, free program available that I can use to turn any image into a tech icon?

(I know this is a completely different topic, but I'd rather not start a new thread when I'm only up to about 20 posts on this site)

Spacer One set out a bit of a discussion of using some of the GIMP's basic features in the CivIII context. It's in the tutorials subforum here. It gives a good starting point for finding things in the GIMP and was a helpful starter for me, at least.

Hi

Thought this might be of use: White Tree

Resource, Resource icons and Tech Icons also have wonder if you need it...

I just cannot work out how to attach an image, sorry.
