Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

you seem to be "Kicking Zombie @$$"
you should try it up a level, I can beat it with a consistant strategy on PG, but I havent beaten it past A1 yet, maybe you have tactics I could employ...

Are you trying to get off the island or conquest?...

Yeah, I won! Everything went as it should have. I captured the Cinema and the Armoury. Then the Airport. I moved my heroes still alive (Flamin Hero, Mr and Ms Tokugawa, Timmy and the old Abes) to the Airport (I know, it could have moved the copter, but I was a little roleplaying :D) and dropped them in mainland.

During the last turns, I have finaly seen some Company and Authority units ! A tank was crushing undead near City Car Park and simili-SWAT were fighting near the Cinema. Since the security boys were killed back at the Dog Pound, the only non-survivors units I saw were zombies and occasionally a farmer's boy :P I never saw the Monster Zombie.

Spacer One, my tactics were very simple. I took the Graveyard out very quickly so I saw very few Swarm units. I took the Hospital as soon as the Authority lost it. No nurse (I didn't know the zombie could build them but I wanted the hospital for myself). When I saw the Dog Pound fell, I retook it. No dogs. Looking at the civilopedia, I saw the Bat-thing at the Church so I captured it before the undead could build any of them. You can see the Zombies haven't got the chance to use their special wonders.

When I attacked, I generaly used one small army. First, it was Mr Tokugawa, the Hero and 3 or 4 old vets. Soon I replaced the old vets by more badass and add some Chainsaw Maniacs. I finally get up two 'small army', one with Ms Tokugawa. So I could capture locations on two fronts. When an attack was successfull and I captured a location, I consolidate it by moving or building a few badass with one chainsaw. Then I repaired my army and moved it to next goal.

I took every chance I had to weaken zombis armies. When the Zombies were attacking the Hospital and the Dog Pound, still owned by Authority and Compagny, they moved their units around the Garage. When there was a group of two or more zombi units, I attacked them with a high attack unit (Chainsaw maniac back then). A lot of zombies died that way.

And during the whole game, I provided the Authority, the Company and even sometimes the Farm with resources (Ammo, Dog). I don't know if it was useful.

Hmmm, I never really get to trade as I am often short on res.
Graveyard, Hostpital, Dog Pound, Church...sounds like a good path, I'll try it...

as far as the Cinema/radoi/fast food...I usually skip em all together...

I never even thought about building Helis in other cities, or flying to them...I always played it like a zombie movie (No Zombie smiley??)

I see no reason to skip capturing locations if you have the ressource to do it.
You have more production, you have the probability to get more ressource and the most important: The zombies can build less! When a good location can spawn a zombie every 2 or 3 turns, it's important to keep them to a minimum. And you don't have to create so much units to keep them. Zombie usually attack the 2 or 3 same locations. The ones in your inner territory will almost never be attacked. I left 2 units per city. Usually 2 old vets or 2 badass in late game. The 2 or 3 attacked locations have much more, with a good mix of defence and attack units. It's important to attack the groups of zombie around your location, especially with yours heroes: If you got enough units, they won't have to defend themself.

I WON I WON!!!the level after A1, whatever it is...I was playing a "civil war" scenario I have layed out and was thinking more tactically...HA...

My Opinions, and succesful techniques...

Use the idea of Razing ALOT more...
I razed the Radio Station, Fast Food(on the second attempt to take it, I might have kept it longer but I was bitter)...the Garage(When I took it back) the Armory, the Research Center...pretty much everything that doesnt come with Strategic stuffs...(Car Park, HardWare, Hostpital, Dog Pound)
Dont Raze the Graveyard...reinforce it constantly from the Old Folks Home...It makes a perfect staging point...position kids on the corners and they can see zombies in well enough time to back into the city, and then attack with Maniacs...

I destroyed everything East of the Garage...and South as well, excpet the noted buildings...Never managed to get the Warehouse...

After fortifying in the Car Park, and sending the remainging Heros to take the Airport it was all good...only Mr T, the Dog, and Abe made it, but hey...we cant all live to see the sunset can we?...The sacrifices made by little Timmy, Hanibal, Mike, and the lovely Mrs T, will be remembered for about an hour or so, while I play another game...

I watched Monster Zombies as they Ravaged the Company yet again...I think they might need some strengthening or something...they ALWAYS die first

Why does everyone seem to talk about abandoning the Garage? When I wrote my story on this game, the Garage was a practically impregnable fortress, that took the brunt of a zombie attack, yet was able to hold them all off. It was probably because they couldn't get past the Garage that I didn't get slaughtered by the zombies.

In my game the Garage fell... 3 times! It just is too hard to hold really.

say what you will, the garage with only Mike Rush(who despite his stats being 7/7 is virtually worthless) is un defendable...I have to rush 2 Old War Vets and move Mrs T just to hold it...

another tip that has worked for me early in the game...
Move the Hero to the shcool, and Mrs T to the Garage...this gives you a chance of holding the garage...

@The Omega...I'll play 5 games and record the progress...I'll post the garages sucess vs failure rate and see...

Who's up for a round of PBEM for the newest version of EZI2? I don't know if anyone want to do it so I just post it to see if anybody is interested, I want to play on restricted level. or is it too hard?

@Cloner, which of the games are you planning to have: Paradise or Big Apple? Are the Zombies playable?

I think "restricted" is too high, I would propose a step down to "18".

If noone plays the Zombies, "restricted" is way too hard...the Company will have NO chance...

BTW, Update...I managed to beat the game on the 4th level(I never remember what they are called)...By getting Abe off the island...EVERYone else died...the Hero made a last stand at the Airport while I built a Heli and deported Abe,,,Chainsaw Maniacs have proved virtually worthless to me BTW as they get captured 50% of the time and end up helping the zombies as much as the hurt...

Im starting On NY now(after I beat Anno Domini a few times)...Maybe I'll try the Authorities for a change...

chainsaw maniac can be great if used early in the game, but not so great in later ones, the problem with the chain saw is you had to make them protected by units with good defence otherwise they are just zombie meat.

well, PG is too easy

yeah, company are hard to hold on early in the game, mainly because it's supply are low.

I guess 18 is a good choice?
Human will always be better than AI, more challenge to. cause we'll be seeing walking zombies kings.

I tried playing the Authorities for a change, and I got rather more than I bargained for. In the beginning I managed to take the Armoury by an all-out assault that cost me half of my National Guardsmen, but I lost the Hospital and the Radio Station. The rest of the game I hung on to the Police Station and the City Hall by my nails...

BTW, why is the Leader disabled? I didn't bother to build the Military HQ since I couldn't get any armies to improve.

I disabled battle created units - the default is a great leader. The reason for this are lost in the mists of time. I think it was an unbalancer. I could put a GL back in easy enough and let you guys play around with it. Let me know.

What about letting GL around (able to create Armies or rushing buildings) but with Armies only having ONE unit?
And Armies could have a lot of abilities (Stealth, detect Invisible, Radar, etc) thus making similar (I think) to promotions in Civ4?
