Fall From Heaven NES

Hehe, I have Tyrs reply to Summer Court already :p
Reminder:

From Summer Court Queen Lydia
To all goodly people of Erebus

The evil tyranny must be stopped! Send us aid, and we will fight our freedom, and put an end to slavery and cruelty!

For years people of Summer court were oppressed. Those who favored summer were picked, harassed, they tend to disappear at night, to be thrown into dungeons, and fed to wolves.

This must be stopped. We forgive, but don't forget. We seek to restore the Old Ways, when Summer and Winter ruled with dual leadership. We seek to abolish slavery, to end tyranny. Such proposal we are willing to accept. In that case, we send our armies against those who threaten new order. Shall that not be provided, we fight, for our independence and freedom, and we fight against all odds, even if Army of Night overwhelms us greatly.

Long ago, before Ice came, Elves lived in unity and ruled with dual leadership- Winter and Summer courts ruled in turns. Then long Age of Ice came, and Winter Court took this as a sign that they should keep rule until summer comes again. Those who opposed were disposed quickly, endungeoned, assassinated, punished, exiled. But elves survived ice, and those who now call themselves Svartalfarl take all credit for leading elves successfully through Never-Ending Winter, and never returned rule to Summer Court.

We seek means to fight Dark Elves. Weapons, supplies... Whatever.

We only want to restore the Old Ways... And end slavery and similar minor details.

(OOC: Here, Elven Civil War never happened. There was simply repression, Summer Court was crushed internally and monopolized power but there was never real war)

From: Vyra Tyrs, Sorceress Queen of Winter's Court
To:The Lydia,
The time before when there were two courts was long ago. Times change, as do people. Accept it. I'd ask you to end this silly farce, but you're not going to end your rebellion, because at your heart you are just a power hungry Svartalfar noble that thinks she can gain foreign friends by claiming popular polices, even if they go against everything the Svartalfar have built up over these years. In my opinion I should simply kill you for attempting to claim my throne. However, as I see that being a rather unpopular decision among our neighbors as they do not understand Svartalfar ways or values, I'm going to offer you another option, despite my extreme doubt that you will accept it. There is a wonderfully isolated outpost on the Pine Peninsula. You can have it. You can rule it and pretend its summer all year long, in exchange for half of the provinces income. You can use the other half for whatever you want, as long as you don't try to usurp my power. Easy solution everyone wins, no?

To: The Peoples of Erubus
If Lydia the Titleless accepts my propose, then you can conduct whatever business you'd like with her, as long as the deal with me remains good, and Lydia isn't helped attempt another coup. Until that time I expect my sovereignty to be respected and there will be consequences if it is not. Stay out of Svartalfar internal affairs.

Special Note to The Kuriotate Empire
I will try to be polite, though I apologize if it is not my forte.
I am aware of your imperialistic tendencies and habits from past actions. I am also aware that Lydia's promised policies agree with your own ideals, which you have a habit of implementing on others. Please refrain from exercising that habit here.

Here. You revealed your true nature.

Let all of the Erebus see your real face. We fight for freedom of Elves, and what do you offer me? A bribe, a desolate piece of land where I could rule, as if I was some power- and prestige- hungry noble. Keep that offer for your nobles that seem to rebel. Our ideals are not sold that easily.

I'm sure you would gladly accept something like this if you were in my position. I'm not like that. I'd do anything for my kingdom. But you would do anything to GET kingdom.

This will not end well. we suggest that the summer and winter courts come to some mutually acceptable compromise.

Perhaps the summer court could recognize the rule of Vyra Trys and in exchange there could be established some sort of 'house of commons' or representative senate to advise in domestic (but not foreign) affairs.

Ultimately the issue is an svartlafar one and not of direct concern to the Amurite senate- we only hope for peace and prosperity.

This concludes our meddling.

We take that this means that you won't help us. Too bad. We really hoped that you would aid us with your enchanted equipment and magic scrolls. It turns out you are either afraid of dark elves, or cooperate with them. But we won't surrender. We fight on our own.

And how can we come to terms when Vrya clearly stated that she will only speak through weapons?

Vyra the Sorceress, Tyrant of Winter Court

I congratulate you on your generosity. The offer you have made to Queen Lydia was a move that can brings peace for all sides of this struggle, a move worthy a good leader. Even If Lydia won't accept it at first, please refrain from usage of force. Give the offer a time it needs to grow and blossom. But if I could be so bold and suggest you an advice, don't ask Summer Court to pay tithe to you. Sever your ties clean. This would ensure that they will have no argument with you and will not to seek to overthrow you.

And, please, I would be extremely disappointed if your opponents will died in their beds, on streets or would simply disappear in the mists at the meantime.

I hope that this is the dawn of friendship new-found between our realms. You will see that the "imperialistic tendencies" of mine that everybody talks about is only an overreaction to my acts of good will.

Cardith Lorda, Emperor of Kuriotates

Queen Lydia of the Summer Court

Are you a queen of piece of land or a queen of your people? Do you prefer your ways over the lives of your sisters and brothers? I urge you to accept the offer of Queen Vyra and prevent pointless civil war. As she said, the times had changed. The ways of Summer Court and Winter Court are now separate. They will perhaps tie in the years to come, but not today. The dark elves have their minds clouded by winter that is no longer here. If you want to bring rays of summer sun and dispel the sleets, you will have to do this by your own glorious example and not by the steel of borrowed swords. I will protect you from military threat as long as you will show willingness to negotiate. But you have talked only about war so far. Please, don't be so stubborn. You are only repeating the mistakes of Kandos Fir. I know that you are better leader than him.

Cardith Lorda
, Emperor of Kuriotates

I don't have to be above gods to judge other people. My kingdom is from this world a so is the authority to judge other people. As a living, thinking, moral, mortal being I judge the actions of others fellow mortals as I judge the actions of mine. I don't need other reason. Unless the action was from the realms over us. But I dare not to think of gods who would ordered such a massacre.

To: Erebus
From: Lord Agron, Internal Affairs, and as such the Calabim Empire.

Queen Lydia Valary is encouraging social disorder and has forced a Svartalfar state into rebellion. It is dispicable that the so-called civilized nations of the world are prepered to negotiate with and even protect this rebellion! It is an outrage that you would see fit to interfere and sponsor this rebel state in such a manner. We fully encourage the Svartalfar the crush this rebellion with any force necessary. An example must be made! If you buy this false Queen off, then ten more will rebel, hoping for similiar treatment. We hope that the Kuriotates will not seek to interfere in these matters, as it does not concern them. It concerns only the stability of Eastern Erebus.

Offer that Vyra Tyrs gave to Summer Court is sufficient in our opinion, so if that offer will be rejected from Summer Court, we are on Tyrs' side.

Does a player have to publicly declare war on this forum before marching troops against an enemy player?
Do they have to declare war before attacking Malakim, Hippus or orcs?
Is it possible to surprise attack another player? Durprise attack the hippus or Malakim?

(i'm asking this for defensive purposes in case you are worried- which you probably aren't)

IMO you don't have to declare war (like Germany in rl WW2).

I think that would make the concept of "Surprise attack" null and void.

OOC:
I can't see why you would have to declare war, as it hasn't been stated anywhere in the rules. You have to move your troops, though.
Just don't invade the Malakim or we won't be friends.

OOC: I have no intention in declaring war, I just have masochistic tendencies and I want to be treacherously attacked by Svartalfar (No offense here, but I haven't better example at hand)

Also, Jopa, what is with the civic? I think the only ones whou would suffer would by Kol.7, because now his farms are as productive as cities and LDiCe
aesare due to the hit prom taking Aerte.

Edit: And putting the map without borders on firsz page would be helpfull.
