Fall From Heaven NES

Luchiurp, Calabim and Balseraph seem pretty quiet. EDIT: and lanun

@ JOPA: can you explain stability? What is the max? Can we equate the rating to the percentage of popular support? I know what my support rating is (well, before the update), but i don't really know how to interpret it.

100 = good.
>100 = even better, you have few extra points to spare
<100 = a chance that . .. .. .. . will happen
<80 = . .. .. .. . will happen

At first it was supposed to multiply your income (so 80% stable = 80% income) but it was too complicated. I didn't remember that I could iterate it by the steps of 5%.

We have known all along that you were an imperialist liar who didn't care about your people, and you have proven us right.
You blame us for shedding blood in grindstone plains when we were only defending ourselves from barbarians. And instead of doing the same, instead of protecting your people from Hippus, you attack your neighbours and let your people slaughtered by the horselords. Shame on you, Cardith Lorca the unwary! Leave Grindstone plains, go face the threats that prove ready to burn down your cities and learn that Khazad actions were wise when you were silly.

I have this sneaking suspicion that I won't be able to be quiet for much longer:mischief:

Greetings, o Cassiel of the Grigori.
Why did you attack us? What ill did the Khazad cause to the Grigori?
Why do you, the agnostic, side with Cardith Lorca who claims to be a god?
Trade between our nations is endangered. Is your economy so strong you can withstand losing our trade routes?
You believed the lies of Cardith Lorca. Are you sure they will help you when times of need come upon your lands?
Khazad have been friends of the Grigori for a long time, so your betrayal is even more disappointing than the short sightedness of the Kuriotates. Back. Take your men back to your lands, swear never to side with the Kuriotates against us and pay us a sum of 50 gold in compensation for your evil deeds, and we will forgive you.
If you do not accept these conditions, all the trade routes we share will have to be cancelled, at the very least.

Kol.7 - updated!
Calabim nobles

As a part of agreement Princess Alexis was forced to sign with Hippus, wards were exchanged. Calabim got sons of few Hippus chiefs, while few of Calabim nobles were forced to leave Calabim lands with all their properties and make their living in Hippus lands.

This caused an uproar in Calabim Principality. Nobles did not want to go and it took force to make them pack themselves. Showing poles Hippus intended for their heads indeed helped, but feeling that Alexis can not protect their nobles and nation is all pervasive. Even more so, people know this through rumors, and this is going against everything they were talked about. Still, Alexis is pleased that Acaia is still part of Principality of Calabim. Had Hippus conquered it, Vampires would show as weak in eyes of all 'lesser' humans and social structure would be shook tremendously.

Calabim: -2 stability

Was I the only one that the Hippus didn't demand land or captives from?

I don't call those captives. I see them as engineers taking up the call to help the Hippus tribes rise up as a full fledged nation. If it's otherwise, there will be hell coming from a stone-fist. Speaking of stone...

And they are NOT captives. And people teaching you about animals and horses aren't either. They are honored guests.

And will be as long as peace is maintained.

Edit: They are professionals first, but are insurance second. Captive is not a good word.

Yes, that's what I thought. But when you mention captives i just had to make sure. Also about when we expect stats?

Kuriotates funded an effort to preserve Orcish culture, their stories, way of life and memories on the Grindstone Plains. This improves orcish faith in Kuriotates and also Kuriotate feelings towards Orcs.
Kandros Fir realises that funding other nations to help preserve or improve their culture.
In an act of friendship towards the Kuriotates, I will therefore strive to imitate them by funding the Hippus culture, which looks so intriguing with all its horses gallopping around the vast Kuriotate plains, villages and cities. I'll gladly help them preserve their ancestral culture where land was barren of villages and spread it to the Kuriotate lands.
I am sure Cardith Lorca will appreciate this effort to promote some of the less well-known cultures of Erebus.

the town crier announces:

UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE ENACTED!

from the update said:
Amurite government term is due to expire and their Republic will soon pick new government. Election campaigning has started, and peasants are once again furious that they won't be able to vote. They are already protesting, some are even staging an anti-elections with universal suffrage, to elect an counter-government. People are uneasy about this, and rumors are that many merchants will vote for men of Order, favored by lowest class, if only out of fear of disorder, to appease the lowest and retain order. Most prominent persons are either Valledia's men or Order's, though Order has moderate and radical faction within their followers. Also, a few militarists are prominent, gathering themselves around semi-secret society with still unknown agenda, known as Mithril Guards. The fact that Amurites have sold a part of their rightful lands to 'barbarians' does not help the current government, but those lands have no real worth to Amurites.

The Amurite Republic Responds to Internal Agitation for Public Voice in the Senate.
Public discord regarding the voice of the common people in the senate and thus in the direction of Amurite society has not gone unnoticed. The senate has convened and has voted on the follows enactments.

  1. The senate shall be expanded from 78 to 101 members. 21 new members from the various districts, 1 from the elohim and one from the immigrant population.
  2. Amurite senate membership shall be extended to representatives from every village, and city district. One senator to represent that district or village shall be decided locally at the district level. 21 such senatorial positions will be added providing the common man a representation and a say within the senate. The role of church in the new senatorial seats may be large or small depending on the composition of the district. Priests and representatives of Junil (or other faiths) are free to campaign within their district as they wish. (OOC: This does mean that if there is a concentration of militant people in one district or village, they may be able to vote in a very fanatical senator to influence the republic.)
  3. The Elohim shall decide upon a representative to the senate.
  4. The recently arrived immigrant community may also vote for a senator to represent them in the senate for as long as they make our republic their home. This is in addition to any influence they may weld with industry and merchants.

These new senatorial positions shall be provided in addition to those traditionally held by the large merchant houses, major industries and the remaining noble houses.

General voting for senators based on districts and wealth shall take place with the next election. This will be followed by the nomination of a 'first speaker' from amongst the senators chosen to head the republic.

Long live the republic! Long live the republic! Long live republic!

OOC: Although Amurite society is inherintly patriarchal, the senate makes no distinction between men and women in politics. Approximatly 20% of senators are women currently.

OOC:
Flavor wise, I never considered Cardith to really style himself a God, but a divinity (above normal mortal human, but no way a god)
I don't understand the difference. Kandros Fir has been blaming him for pretending to be divine in some way while at the same time questioning others' faith and making bold assertions about what they said.

Interesting, Kurios never once mentioned 'war' but punitive mission. But invasion of other man's lands and attacking his army to get his generals is pretty much war to me. Unless Khazad want to call this a mere incident. But with Hippus on other side, that would be... hmmm...
Yeah, punitive mission, not war. Like what, just killing people, not waging war. And they're surprised that they didn't find general Thorne when I had publicly announced he would be trialled by myself. But I'm hopeful. "Kuriotates have no usage for soil irrigated by blood. But I will never recognize any claim enforced by blood of innocents". So they will simply leave the blood soaked plains and take care of their own lands.

Your citizens are thinking that it would be unwise to let Kurios get out without any tribute our revenging your dead, when you can fight them back them all the way to Kwythelar.

We're deeply sorry for this action. We thought that we only capture Thorne for his action, but this is too far afield. We believed, that we do right thing, but now I see. We accept your offer, and we pay 50$ ASAP.
