Fall From Heaven NES

To: Grigori and others:
any merchant ships which we can catch heading to the Calabim will be turned back.

To: Calabim:
any merchant ships which we can catch will be seized.

EDIT: We have now reached 1000 posts in this thread.

Take your commerce limits in account- they still do not matter for this turn, but will after this. Unless you want to face famine or be forced to make agriculture a backbone of economy.

I'm not sure how they work exactly but you said they would be sent out with our stats. I haven't gotten any stats yet.

i.

The Mighty Calabim Empire would like to warn the ignorant, bureaucratic worms that make up the Amurite government that they are in for a suprise and are about to be dragged, kicking and screaming into the real world.

Good luck.

We also strongly recommend that you do not interfere further in our trade with other nations, yet we have come to know that you are unwilling to listen to good advice, so do not expect you to pay any attention to this warning, for which you should be grateful.

With love,

Lord Yrain, High Commander of Military Operations and Law Enforcement,
Lord Agron, Internal Affairs, and Ikrasa of the Nobleman's Council,
Queen Alexis, Your Worst Nightmare.

Just a small one, I wonder if you can tell I'm building up for something here :p.

Betrayal

Morteros shook her, but only very gently, afraid that his touch would somehow break her.
''Alexis, Alexis wake up.'' He whispered, hurriedly
''Father?'' Her voice was groggy and weak as she began to stir. Finally she opened her eyes, blinking in the light of the candle Morteros held close to her face.
''What are you doing, filth! How dare you wake the Queen!'' Immediately she was fully awake, and furious that a lowly human servant had dared awake her from her dream. It was still dark outside.
''I am most sorry, My Queen.'' Morteros withdrew from her quickly, ignoring the casual insult, ''But I had no other choice, I have dire news.''
Alexis growled angrily at him, ''Turn around, and be silent.''
The man turned, shaking in fear. What would she do to him? He kept his mouth firmly shut to prevent her hearing his whimpering, and tried to picture the birth of his new-born baby, determined to die with a happy thought in his mind.
Finally, Alexis spoke again. ''You may face me.'' Her tone of voice was implacable, and worrying. He turned slowly, not knowing what to expect.

She stood before him in a long gown of deep red silk, with her hair brushed perfectly into place, and her face washed. Morteros let out a sigh of relief, not bothering to hide it from her, and she smiled to see his discomfort. ''What is it you have to tell me, Morteros?'' Morteros was one of her main servants, and was charged with cleaning many of the rooms in the Upper Palace, for this reason he made a useful spy, and often brought her valuable information based on what he found in the rooms of the members of the Ruling Seat, her chief advisors, and any Nobles who needed to stay in Prespur.

He took a deep breath, hoping she would acknowledge him as the bearer of bad new and not its cause. ''Lord Agron plans to kill you! I found these papers in his desk, and under his pillow he keeps a long, silver knife.'' Little did the Nobility know that privileged servants like Morteros had the keys to every draw and cupboard of the Upper Palace rooms.
''Many of the nobility keep knives at hand, a man like Agron should always be weary of betrayal.'' Aware of how ironic this would sound to the servant.
''But Mistress, on the dagger he has carved 'Ka Ypeigna sor ka Heim Nroghe', which means 'The Bringer of the New Age', in the Old Tongue.''
''I am perfectly aware of the meaning.'' She said coolly. She knew Morteros was correct, yet continued to play Agares' Advocate, ''And it does not necessarily suggest...'' She let it hang.
''No, but this does.'' He placed document after document onto her desk, which she began to skim through, Morteros drawing her attention to the most damning areas of each. Included was a detailed discussion of Agron's grand scheme, a sketch of the dagger and it's carving, and numerous references to the ''New Age''. Finally, feeling he could no longer hold on, he desperately tried to pull her away from the documents by her arm, saying, ''Mistress, we must leave! You must escape!''

The Queen slapped hard the hand that had so callously grabbed hold of her, and continued to flick through the documents. Sometimes, servants like Morteros forgot their place. At last, she spoke. ''Interesting'' her voice was steady and calm.
''Interesting? He is going to kill you!''
''Yes, it is interesting. Some of this had escaped even my notice.'' she told him.
He gasped in horror. ''You knew his plans? Then why in this world did you give him such power?''
''Silence! You will not speak to me using such a tone, worm!'' Her expression was clouded with anger. ''You will never doubt my actions! Understand?''
''I... I'm sorry Mistress, I don't know what I was thinking, I was just so afraid you would walk into his trap.''
She ignored him, and turned to the long mirror that hung on her wall, meticulously inspecting her appearance.
''I am tired of Ruling.'' she finally spoke,''I am tired of dealing with the Council. I am tired of constantly having to thwart the plots of ambitious Noblemen. Please leave me now, Morteros.''

Morteros scrambled to his feet and walked to the doorway, blinking back tears with all his strength. Alexis really was depressed, and she wanted to die. A fact Agron would surely make good use of...

Yeah I was wondering about the atheists. I guessed grigori.

BTW all these embargoes your throwing up against me are making you seem rather desperate Immac :p.

OOC: Well, it works in modern times (sometimes- look at libya) and means my military can stay at home.
And maybe i am desperate... desperate to help your poor oppressed people ;)

I'll edit the above post.

At the risk of sounding whiny, I really need Algeroth to make a decision on peace soon so I can get my own affairs in order. I can make a guess that the Khazad and the Hippus are the same. So...

Yeah, if we are to have update at Sunday I do need to know whether we are to start negotiating peace or to continue war. Most of all I'd hate to generally agree to peace but then fail to flesh out details before deadline.

Than give up the idea of one update per week. I would hate to give up place in this NES but I can't afford more free time this month. Could we cool down to 3 updates per week for few weeks? And i would like to send my diplomacy, but my answers depend on answers of others.

Well assuming you mean 3 updates per month, as far as I'm concerned it is easier for me to do it that way - less updating and stuff. That is only IF there is popular demand for slow-down, but other players seem keeping up to it.

But I don't know how justified it is. All you have to do is send diplomacy and a mail of orders. It just takes a visit to website really, not really a rocket science. My job is to do the update and process the orders, players is to send them.

All I'm really asking is finding a ten or so minutes in few days to sort it all out.

Whatever. I think that seven days is a pretty long time already, but that's just me. And tell your contacts to hurry up on their end.

In other news - (begin semi-official message)

The previous stance of the Lanun has since been found to be erring. New developments and differences have arisen, and it is with regret that we must abandon our former neutrality in the Amurite/Calabim conflict.

The Lanun declare that Lanun ships shall no longer anchor in Calabim ports. We will not stop other nations from trading as they wish, and do not desire to end this in conflict. However, we have determined that until such time that the situation changes, our interests would not be served by trade with the Calabim.

(end semi-official message)

Thus, we have an extra trade route. Jopa/Immac, could you send it off to the Svartalfar?

Uh i meant 2 updates per 3 weeks, sorry. But I will be next two weeks (+ fridays) on course and I don't know if I will have acces to internet.

Crown Property

Almost everything of worth in entire realm is confiscated and belongs to central power and to throne. Incomes from production rise, but at the expense of middle class of merchants and craftsmen who are pushed out of business, and aristocrats who lose their lands. This is also very unpopular policy for the people, and will not bode well with non-centralist governments.

Speaking of Civics, didn't someone come up with a Professionalism Labor Civic a while back. If so what were it's stats. If not any suggestions as it's really how I picture the Luchuirp labor system working.
