Can the blood effect be disabled for certain units? I'm not sure I see how my skeletons and spectres are losing great gouts of blood when they fight.

yea, Kael and me were talking about that and I thought he found a solution, but I am not sure he tried to implement it, yet

Its all implemented. The problem may be based on the patches you have installed. In one patch version the base animations had the blood effect, in a later patch their were specialized animations just for the blood effect. If you applied both patches then you get blood either way.

You best bet is to delete your "..\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Fall from Heaven 2\Assets\Art\Units" directory and then reinstall the latest patch.

A new Chalid...
Fighting along the Radient Guard ;)

Very nice, his lips look a bit odd though.

small update 18.o3.o9

Today I fupdated the Ratha and the Chalid Model to complete the Empyrean. And as I heard some complaints about the missing unique Bannor Champion, I thought "why not use the effort put into Auric Ulvins Armor for a unit which is seen more often". I hope it was a good decision. decide yourself

It gives them more of that Roman Legion feel. I like it. From what I understand of their lore, their military discipline either matches or exceeds the mid roman empire's... then again it looks very Germanic

That's grand SeZ, I've been waiting for the Bannor Champion for a long while :)

Now tell me, what's a "fupdate"? :p

Sezereth. I have a question. How does one texture in Blender? I've got the modeling down pat 9or pretty much) so now, i want to figure out texture.

thanks :D

edit: I know you have 3dmax, but i'm usre you used blender at one point, right?

New bannor champion looks great.

Also, I'd like to make a small mention. The Doviello Skuld model, looks incredible. It feels wasted, because Doviello don't often get to such a late tech level, being as they're mainly about the early game.

You'll need to make a material for the final product, but to see your texture in blender, just select all your vertexes, make a new view, set it to UV/Image Editor, and load your texture.
Now, if you've been modelling from scratch, you'll have to learn how to UV map, but that's another story. :D

I am using Blender as well :P
to be precise I use version 2.48.
And there, like Mr. Underhill said

Now, if you've been modelling from scratch, you'll have to learn how to UV map, but that's another story.

So, open that window in a split screen, go into edit mode of your model, select some faces and hit "U", then you will have the unwrap menu, then you can use several methods to unwrap your model, once you unwrapped it (normal unwrap is powerful), you will see the UV map of those faces appear in the UV/Image Editor window.
And then you can select them in this window, click on "Image"-> "open" and then you can choose any .tga, .jpg or (in 2.48) .dds.
Then you can change the view mode in your edit wndow from solid to textured and then you will see the part of the image which is covered with your unwrapped faces displayed on your model.

Just wondering: why is the Bannor champion's sword handle so long if it's one-handed? It reminds me of the mimic's sword, where it makes it look crazy and cool, but here it feels a bit out of place.

Other than that, great job with all the new models :goodjob:

I kinda like it.

Makes them able to use it with two hands if they lost their shield (or place the shield as back-protection). Using the sword two-handed can be good especially vs pikemen, and if held like a pike, vs Mounted units. (Though this particular sword is kinda short for both those tasks).
