Poll coming

Desktop computer - Yup, probably going to turn this into a server at some point.
Laptop (any) - Work provided - my next computer will probably be a laptop with a dock, so I'll be able to easily dock it to my dual monitors, surround sound and mouse/keyboard.
Portable DVD player - Nope, computer does that.
Ipod (or similar) - Cowon iAudio 7, like an ipod but better.
Ipod Touch - See previous.
Ipad (or similar) - Galaxy Tab, got it super cheap, mostly use it as an in-car GPS with a big screen.
Kindle (or similar) - See previous.
Cell phone (not so smart) - Nope.
Smart phone (any) - HTC HD7, Windows Phone.
Console game thing (any) - Nope, computer does that, I can emulate everything up to the PS2 and Wii (with better graphics than the original system), have xbox 360 wireless peripherals, so not much point in consoles.
Other; what would that be? - Probably, I have a lot of gadgetry.

You should really have gone with more generic names rather than Apple and Amazon products which don't make very clear categories.

Desktop, laptop, blackberry phone, and I still have (and even occasionally use) my non-phone Palm Tungsten T3. I have no gaming consoles because I figure if a game isn't made for the PC then it isn't worth playing (of the electronic/video type games...board games still rock).

Why are you listing gadgets by brand? I refuse to be associated with Apple products. So although I have a Zune ("or similar") and a BlackBerry PlayBook ("or similar"), I shall not vote! Hmph!

Why not say "Alienware (or similar)" and "Dell (or similar laptop)" and nokia, and android, and xbox (or similar). Grarrrgh!

I used the Apple brand because they pretty clearly identify the various product categories in a way most people will understand. I added the "or similar" so that if you have a non Apple brand of an item, you will know where to include it.

My goal is see which categories of items are used by our members, and not to promote any single brand. I do not personally own any Apple products.

I mostly use my laptop. My desktop is being neglected. The iPod touch is a fantastic little device. I think I even use it more than my desktop these days.

Yeah, but ipod (or similar) and ipod touch (no similar for ipod touch?) are similar products to begin, as maybe are the ipad (or similar) and kindle (or similar) (which is an entire product line, including both tablets and ereaders, which aren't far less similar to ipads than are ipods.)

Any ios device has way more in common than any other ios device than any device with a different OS, for that matter.

I use my laptop every day and my "smart" phone every day. I couldn't function very well without either because I need them for checking emails, working etc etc..
I don't use my console regular, it rots in my room :(

I have a smartphone, a computer, and an x-box. I would not consider the xbox or computer to be "gadgets", though.

Laptop, kindle and four year old smart phone.

Desktop - Phenom II X4 945. Gaming device + FTP server.
Laptop - Lenovo x201. Work computer, some games.
Smartphone - BB Torch. Internet, email, phone, Google Reader checker.
Tablet - gonna buy one soon. Mostly to be used as a PDF-reading device + internet. Can Kindle-like objects read PDFs?

Kindle's can. It's not ideal though. You'd need to get the bigger one.

Laptop, Xbox 360, and a smartphone I just use for calls or messages and sometimes email (they had a free upgrade plan).

I have a laptop which runs on Windows Vista, an Android Smartphone (used largely for music purposes), a Wii which I don't use as often as I used to, and a Blu-Ray.

I have a desktop, a mouse, a keyboard, and a screen.
