It's the lesser of 2 evils, at least.
One thing about Romney is that he seems to be a genuinely decent person. And he's actually done something with his life. Obama, in contrast, is the typical smug arrogant bastard that infests academia. Never put in a honest day's work in his entire life - and proud of it.

But they're both beholden to Wall Street and K Street and they both are big cheerleaders for the Military-Industrial Complex. So it's about the same thing.

PFFT! What?

Relieved. Mainly because he is Not-Romney.

As a Brit i've never forgiven Obama for snubbing Brown, calling the Falklands the "Malvinas" and his general attitude towards Britland despite his moves in the last year or two or trying to get back into our good books. Get Romney in.
Keep on dissing the Brits Obama :D

It would be nice. It's going to be a tough fight for Obama. Not because of his opponent but because of the Supreme Court's citizen's united decision. Unlimited funds from the super rich (who stand to gain from a GOP win) will be thrown against Obama's re-election. The airwaves will be saturated with anti-Obama ads.

Given that Obama has tried to cut out outsourcing of jobs to India and constantly keeps harping on how new jobs are to be created in the US and not India, China compared to Romney who was in a management position in some firm which outsourced jobs , I should favor Romney. But a cursory glance at political threads at CFC have convinced me the world is better of without republicans in power.

A tweet from Radley Balko: "Haven't followed Bain closely, but if Romney did help send jobs overseas to people living in abject poverty, I dislike him a little less."

Facetious of course. More to the point, the whole outsourcing nonsense is yet more proof of economic ignorance. The point of an economy is not to produce jobs. It is to produce wealth, something that government is utterly incapable of doing.

According to who? Is there some divine decree I've missed?

There needs to be structure of distribution present which spreads this wealth in a desirable fashion. With private property - this is mostly done by the job market.
Further on, how this wealth is spread will in a private-property based demand-driven economy also have a significant effect and on what and how much wealth in turn is produced. Actually, it determines how much and what kind as far as the private economy goes.
In conclusion: The job market is an essential part of the wealth creation.

I would be pleased. Why? Because then I can see all the conservatives flee to Canada away from socialism here and discover to their horror that Canada is even more socialist in terms of American vocal conservative thought process. (Note I put the qualifier 'Vocal' as in the ones you see on tv, not the conservatives that still have some sense in them)

Which it does a great deal less of under conservative policies that concentrate wealth....

I would prefer that Americans elect Romney because he is less likely to engage in protectionism and other sorts of economic populism, but the difference isn't all that big. So meh.

In 2008 I really really wanted Obama to lose because I was annoyed by his naive fans who thought he would change the world. Now nobody cares very much and neither do I.

The Reps and Dems seem so similar to me I don't really care which is in office, both are bad

Multiple choice question.

Which person is likely to have the greatest impact on CivGeneral gaining employment?

1.Barack Obama
2.Mitt Romney
3.CivGeneral
You do know that there are other unemployed individuals in the US. Don't you?

Some people seem unable to grasp the fact that an unemployment rate means that there are not enough jobs for the number of workers.
