Relieved.
Agreed. I think pretty much anybody in Canada who isn't a die-hard Stephen Harper fan or employed in the oil field or gas wells or mixed up in all the dirty dealings connected with those areas would be relieved.

One thing about Romney is that he seems to be a genuinely decent person.
"Decent" people do not put their dogs in a crate, strap the crate on top of a car, and then drive for 12 hours to Canada. When the dog gets sick partway and defecates so the feces not only mess up the dog and the crate but also the car windows, a "decent" person does not use a hose to clean off the dog and the car - and then make the dog get back in the crate, still wet, and continue on the trip. A "decent" person does not deny that he did anything wrong - either morally or legally - and when confronted about it, a "decent" person does not laugh and say "He loved it!"

I would be pleased. Why? Because then I can see all the conservatives flee to Canada...
WE don't want them!

One thing about Romney is that he seems to be a genuinely decent person. And he's actually done something with his life. Obama, in contrast, is the typical smug arrogant bastard that infests academia. Never put in a honest day's work in his entire life - and proud of it.
(...)
If you put Romney in office, you'll render him useless then :D.

Seriously, I'm bewildered to see that such a "I'll say everything and its contrary to get elected" guy can even have a shot at being elected. I must have missed something about that due to the fact I'm not American.

I'd rather see Romney. Obama's had four years and not much to show for it so let someone else have a chance. If Romeny's not any better, he can always be voted out in four more years. I voted disappointed.

WE don't want them!

Neither do we! Besides, with the news that Canadians are now wealthier than American's, you could do with a bit of conservative policies to ruin you economy too. :)

Obama is pro-gay marriage, so... Happy.

Disappointed because a third party hasn't won (Green Party, Communist Party i dont care anymore)

Best performer in decades was George Wallace in the electoral college, Ross Perot otherwise, and they didn't come close. Prospects don't look good for non-Ds and non-Rs for at least a couple cycles due to the Citizens United ruling.

I know, my favorite third party potential candidate was Jello Biafra , he didn't get much delegate votes probably because his running mate was a death row inmate.

Some people seem unable to grasp the fact that an unemployment rate means that there are not enough jobs for the number of workers.

In fact I entirely grasp this concept. I also grasp the concept that the greater the will to gain employment and the greater the dedication that one has to this task, the less likely one is to fall befoul of the mathematics. Life is waaaaay to short to just shrug ones shoulders and accept stuff.

@CivGeneral...sure it's none of my business but heh, it's a forum and often we put stuff out there about the details of our real lives. Make no mistake, it would make me happy to know that you really took the bull by the horn and got a job since you regularly express the desire to do so, and I like you.

It's just not that simple. Everyone wants to believe they are exceptional and can beat the stats, but that's not how the real world works.

I accept that if everyone who wanted a job dedicated themselves to the task to the best of their ability, the simple maths and lack of available jobs would leave many empty handed. However, not all jobseekers are equal and simply believing one is exceptional don't mean squat.

I would still think that in The USA, if one was truly dedicated, and I mean dedicated with a capital D to finding and maintaing employment, this would position that person very favorably compared to those less motivated.

I would like to see the unemployment rate amongst people who absolutely dedicate their days to getting a job as opposed to those who try half heartedly. There are measures that can be taken to at least minimize the disadvantage that a weak job market places the seeker in.

Relieved. Obama isn't near left wing enough for my taste, but I can stand him a lot more than Romney.

And for the right wingers calling Obama a "socialist", I suggest you immigrate to France or somewhere and find I what real socialism actually is. Especially considering it's not so bad.
