Moderating is not hard, per se. Probably the hardest part is simply putting personal biases aside, and doing what is right for the site. The volume can get one down, though. When I joined this site, we had just over 7000 members. We now have more than 20 times that number, yet the increase in mods has been negligible.
The sheer size of the site is what led us to internal discussions about numbers and types of mods (and admins). Nearly all the current mods are now, or soon will be, Senior Moderators, with global powers. As new mods are brought on board, they will be mentored, and taught how we want things done, so they can eventually step into Senior roles.
It is possible that there will occasionally be some "mini-mods", with reduced/restricted powers and authority, to help with specific tasks, such as the MTDG forums.
I for one welcome our new insect overlords.
Congrats Plotinus, mah more knowledgable brotha! I am starting the Poltinus fan club. Becuase he's awesome at ancient history-related stuff.
The only real coup was this one:

After the April Fools joke.
There is still the CFC Secret Ministry of Internal Security. But Thunderfall, are you sure Padma and ainwood won't overthrow you in a massive CFC leadership struggle with their new admin powers?
But you do know what they say, don't you? "When the cat's away, the programmer's will play!".![]()

I did not see that post. That post does not exist nor come from that grey nondiscript building.
