But shouldn't equal modified strengths have meant that we both lost four?
I thought the maximum you could get from war plans was 80%?
And how did Turkey kill 10 units compared to 4 when our modified strengths were equal?
To the Armenians:
Remember, proud Armenians, of a time long ago. A time enshrouded in mystery and myth. Remember your great and glorious past. Perhaps you need not reminding that the ancient kings of Armenia were the first to accept the teachings of Jesus, and that they now sit with David, Solomon, Noah and Moses upon their heavenly thrones.
More recently, you enjoyed well-deserved religious and cultural freedom within the old Ottoman Empire. The harmony between the Berbers, Arabs, Kurds, Armenians, Turks, Greeks, Georgians, Serbs, Bulgars and Magyars within the empire will not be forgotten soon.
However, as is the fate of all great realms, the Ottoman Empire has been extinguished, and is now but a memory. In its place, numerous new and unworthy states have sprung up like cedars after a wildfire, each claiming inheritance to the old empire. Among them stands the unworthy and cowardly Anatolia.
Ruled from Ankara by kings blinded by their greed and cowardice, this "sublime state" is a true monster to behold. Unlike the old empire it claims to be, Anatolia is a xenophobic corruption of a kingdom hell-bent on turning everyone crushed under their tyrannical heel into Muslim Turks. Given time, they will attempt to assimilate you just and righteous Armenians into their twisted vision of a reformed Ottoman empire.
Yet before they can do so, they must exact tribute out of you. Many of you, innocent and noble farmers, have been forced to make great sacrifices for the sake of your barbarous and heathen king's war of aggression. You have had your farms plundered by "friendly" Turkish armies and lost sons fighting a cowardly war against a superior enemy. Such atrocities and injustices will only continue in the future.
Thus, it is time to put an end to these injustices now. Remember your glorious past! Stand up against this monstrosity of a kingdom now, and aid the divine armies of Istanbul and Hejaz in your liberation. Those who stand with us now shall receive their eternal compensation in Heaven, and shall be remembered and honored by their descendants as righteous and noble heroes. Once the oppressive Anatolians have been driven back to their homes, the Armenian kingdom of old shall be restored by the direction of God. Remember Armenia!
Signed,
Caliph Ibrahim II, Custodian of the Two Holiest Mosques.
- I assume that if the province you tried to colonize is still grey, said colonization attempt failed?
Do you want a decision on the event with the next orders or before?
Kongola's faction strengths add up to 120%.
But shouldn't equal modified strengths have meant that we both lost four?
Well, first of all, as I said before, units don't represent actual troops; rather units represent all the resources you have to make war - manpower, supplies, ammunition, morale, training, et cetera. Secondly, the way I made the battle system meant the losing side loses all their units, but if the modified strengths are very close the winning side also loses most if not all their units. This was intentionally done so that war is very expensive even for the stronger side, requiring continuous input of blood and treasure to sustain, which could be ruinous in the long run.
With regards to war plans, I never said 80% was the maximum. In the event, everyone sent in detailed war plans, which is good, I guess, though it did make more work for me. Anyway, some were more detailed than others, particularly Turkey's, Istanbul's and Mediterranea's. Mediterranea in the end got 120% for the war plans and an additional 10% from multiple directions bonus. France made very detailed plans for the invasion of Provence, which didn't happen due to Fed forces threatening Paris, and the plan for Paris' defence was relatively undetailed, though I got the general idea of troop deployment.
To the Constantinopolitans
-
Honourable Constantinopolitans, in honour of our agreement with your nation the Holy See has interceded on your behalf against Bosnia and invoked a righteous war against them as punishment for their aggressions and with the intent to cast down their apostate King. Even as you read this letter the fearsome Cardinal Bernadin lands his forces in Croatia in preparation for the march to Sarajevo, which in time shall fall before the armies of Christ. Rejoice! Rome shall assist the "Second Rome" even as was intended of old in the great crusades, where unfortunately the devil sowed greed into the hearts of men, who to the horror of the Holy Father of the day betrayed the trust between the two cities, and irrevokably broke the unity between east and west.
Yet we can be glad that on this day, in this war, and at the hour Sarajevo falls that the will of God shall not be denied, and that Bosnia shall be cleansed in our name making amends for the tragedies of the past. In our unity the sword of justice shalt be cast down upon the apostate agents of the enemy, in the image of the sword of Michael casting Satan out of heaven. Know therefore my friends, Bosnia's destruction is the will of the Lord, and that we are His instruments, know Constanople that the Balkan Crusade is nigh and that your salvation from our enemies is at hand.
Deus Vult! God wills it!
