Is Donald Trump Done for?

you must be doublly happy thinking about when you can state that with hindsight in the very near future
I'm just thinking about how sad it would be if you miss out on having two scoops of icecream to celibrate
I enjoy my two scoops of ice cream regularly as part of my ongoing celebration of life. I do not let Trump or any politics interfere with that. :)

you must be very happy then that this will form the basis of Trumps defense
Weren't you the one who was claiming that the Republicans couldn't wait to call witnesses (in the face of clear Democrat blocking tactics), when instead the Republicans all voted to withhold both witnesses and evidence from the Senate trial? I'm just not sure you should be making any more predictions about the Senate wanting to do anything than not indict Trump in the most obvious way possible.

It's called arguing in bad faith, Arakhor.

You can no more convince him of the reality of the situation then you could convince a flat earther that the world is round; it is willful at this point.

I will get back to you when the senate votes on which witnesses to call after both sides get through with their opening arguments
So far they have only voted on dem amendments to when to call witnesses
meanwhile I will wait by the riverside and enjoy the show

@Berzerker When the constitution was written, there was no codified federal law. Federal Bribery laws didn't even show up for over 50 years. High crimes and misdemeanors cannot refer to any specific laws. It was the way that the founders used to collectively group all the things that a president could do that would abuse his power.

This is the 1st time a President was impeached without specific laws. I dont understand your link, does it (or you) say the feds never charged anyone with bribery or the feds didn't have any bribery laws (or both)? Bribery is in the Constitution as one of the reasons for impeachment.

Ukraine did not participate in the 2016 election. It has been shown many times how that whole story was just FSB misdirection. Trump's support for that propaganda was just Trump following orders from Putin.

Donald Trump wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

and I'll bet thats just the tip of the iceberg...

I would quite believe that Trump gets angry at anyone and anything he perceives to stand in his way, however irrational it makes him look.

Did Ukraine stand in his way in 2016?

Do you believe Ukraine was angry at Russia for annexing their clay ? How many people around Trump have to be arrested by the FBI for you to connect the dots ?

If the Democrats were under scrutiny - including spying - for 2-3 years we'd be seeing them go to jail too. But no one conspired with the Russians. Well, the Democrats did... They paid Christopher Steele to dig up dirt on Trump from Russia. Wanna bet we find Democrats conspired with Ukrainians? And I'd bet they were on the west's payroll too.

As for Russia and Ukraine, are you suggesting Ukrainians interfered because they opposed Trump? How should Trump feel about that? How did the Democrats respond when Russians interfered because they opposed Clinton? They spied on Trump and red baited the country based on lies.

Trump gets impeached for asking Ukraine to look into the Bidens and Burisma. Is there no justification to look into that arrangement. Or are political opponents off limits? If thats the case, how do you explain spying on Trump before the election?

Man that brain of yours has really got itself all twisted around. It’s impressive actually.

What "specific law" was Clinton impeached for?

Perjury.

Impeachment isn't for specific laws. It's for high crimes and misdemeanors. Lawyers can also be disbarred for conduct unbecoming. Doctors can lose their license.

Some professions are held to higher standards. Not just "don't be a criminal".

Thanks Obama

National Debt Increased By $3 Trillion During Donald Trump's Three Years As President
The increased spending elevated the deficit. The TCJA act has added $1.8 trillion to the debt and can add another trillion dollars, if tax cuts are extended past their 2025 expiration.
the ACA Tax Repeal and other legislation--which included disaster relief, emergency spending, and ACA tax delays, signed in December 2019--added a combined total of about $665 billion.
Both BBAs added a total $2.2 trillion, mainly by increasing defense and non-defense spending caps through 2021.

As a Republican presidential candidate, Trump said he would eliminate the national debt in eight years, which was $19 trillion in 2016, according to The Washington Post. Asked by journalist Bob Woodward if that would involving raising taxes to ease the problem, Trump responded: "I don't think I'll need to. The power is trade. Our deals are so bad."

@Berzerker

You have finally convinced me that you are no long worth talking with on either politics or Sumeria. First, you still cling to the lie that Ukraine interfered in the US 2016 election and not Russia. Second, you persist against authoritative evidence that Cylinder Seal 243 supports ancient alien influence on earth history. In both cases you are flat out wrong. I had hoped that you were smarter than that. :bye:

Lately I've been leaning more and more toward my theory that Berzerker is a chatbot, but I guess we'll never know

Doesn't bother me Trump wont be convicted.
Of course it doesn't "bother" you, because... as you say, ultimately you will get the result you want. Like I've previously alluded to... If the Mets have already clinched a playoff berth, I'm not happy to see an opponent hit a home run on them, but ultimately it doesn't bother me because I know that my team is still going to the playoffs.

I don't think it will. I think they will go for "there are no rules that bind the president and he can do whatever he wants".

Without searching, do you actually know the subject on which the president was speaking, or the question he was answering, when he said he could do what he wanted?

Oh, you mean there are multiple instances? I guess there would be. But bragging about sexually assaulting women kinda gets remembered. I mean not as fiercely as his victims do, I'm sure, but still.

thought not
I've gotta use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know, I'm automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. When you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything... Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything.
Which dates to 2005, sure, but @Sommerswerd is right - he's used this kind of language multiple times. Nice try singling out El_Machinae though, it's always easier to ignore the posts that are harder to refute ;)
