It's possible to hacking Civ3 Editor?

I was thinking if was possible to hack Civ3 editor to have the religion option in addition to government, like in Civ4.
I saw too much problems with Civ4 for too much people. People with Radeon or Geforce videocards having problems with this new game makes me wonder if it's really better than Civ3. The religion feature is one of the things that was interesting me, but after the initial impression I can say that Civ3 is still better.
One option for modders now is putting a religion system in Civ3. This can be done with the current governments options in the Civ3editor, putting more types of government. But I was wondering if a hacking in the editor was possible. Any ideas?

How does Religion work in Civ4? It sounds like a good idea, but how does it work?

Hacking the editor wouldn't be enough at all. You'll need to modify the core game itself. And without the source code, it's hopeless.

Unless you decipher the source code... cracker´s work, it seems, though here in Argentina there are thousands of us/them milling about...
However, I´m no cracker.

It's one thing to remove the CD-Checker of an exe and another to add a new functionality to a game.

Well, anything´s possible as long as you have the source code. That won´t happen for at least 10 years.
