Let's have a serious discussion about conspiracy theories.

No "lol at the conspiracy nutters" posts, please.

The funny thing about the word "conspiracy" is that it carries the implication of secrecy. However, the cabal of people with plans for a New World Order have openly admitted their existence and their agenda. H.G. Wells was one of them. So was David Rockefeller, who confessed the existence of this cabal in his memoirs.

Now let's look at 9/11. Osama bin Laden eventually took credit for the attacks. The Pentagon was not hit by a cruise missile. The collapse of the Twin Towers looks nothing like a controlled demolition. But WTC 7 is a different story. Professional controlled demolitionists who have seen the WTC 7 footage have said that it's a controlled demolition. But who was responsible? Was it Bush? I have no idea. He doesn't seem smart enough to plan something like this.

Share your thoughts on the matter.

Conspiracy Theories depend for their efficacy on the ignorance of the audience.

Some people will say anything to get on TV.

Okay, I'll bite. What information do you possess that the conspiracy fans lack?

Yeah, that's true. However, building 7 DOES look exactly like a controlled demolition. The roof bends a bit because you take out the central support columns first, and then every part of the building falls straight down simultaneously.

I find the JFK assassination theories pretty intriguing, but I could easily be misled. I went through a conspiracy theory fascination stage around 3 years ago when I was a freshman in high school, but I can't bring myself to believe in them any more. Loose Change is a cool film and got me to start questioning the government a lot more from a young age, but it's bogus investigation work.

The actually reality is damning enough for the US government as it is.

The thing bothers me most about conspriacy theories, they're mostly based of "lack of evidence" rather than evidence. Just like religion.
But at least religious guys admits it's a matter of faith than evidence.

conspiracy theories are ridiculous usually IMO because they require far too many people to keep hush hush about morally reprehensible actions. I just dont buy that you can have that many people keep the kind of secrets conspiracy theories suggest they are keeping.

Okay, never mind about building 7. I read the Wiki article on it and it says "The NIST report found no evidence supporting conspiracy theories that 7 World Trade Center was brought down by controlled demolition. Specifically, the window breakage pattern and blast sounds that would have resulted from the use of explosives were not observed"

NWO is real, though.

That's because the NWO isn't keeping hush-hush about anything. They openly admit that they exist...

This is perhaps the only conspiracy theory I believe in.

Nah, sometimes people just look the same. In addition to Katy Perry and Zoey Deschanel, I went to high school with a guy who looked exactly like Leo of the Love Boat. I myself bear a strong resemblance to Axl Rose.

I thought NWO was a wrestling company or division.

Look at the list of NWO people. What exactly is "new" about this order?

There is no "list". As far as I know, only H. G. Wells and David Rockefeller are "out of the closet". Also, the NWO is the government that they want to implement, not the cabal itself (which is sometimes referred to as the Illuminati, but I don't know what they call themselves)

I thought the Illuminati was some sort of college fraternity.

My problem with conspiracy theories is that none of them have any credible proof. The fallacious reasoning almost always goes something like this: "the official story cannot be right because X, therefore our bat manure crazy version must be right!". And whatever "proof" they may have is shady and debatable at best.

I think you are thinking of the Skull & Bones Society.

Skull & Bones is a regular feature in many conspiracy theories, which claim that the society plays a role in a global conspiracy for world domination. It is true that some prominent families had one or more members as Bonesmen. The theorists such as Alexandra Robbins suggest that Skull & Bones is a branch of the Illuminati,[32] or that Skull & Bones itself controls the Central Intelligence Agency[53];[citation needed] the conspiracy theorists relying on supposed personal connections and coincidences[citation needed].
