Civfanatics' zeal for info about the game = copyediting for Firaxis! It IS an improvementFixed!
(Waiting for flutes)
(Didn't have to wait long)
On that regard, I was curious about that "getting Thera yields" statement during the Exploration Age stream as Thera is a volcanic Natural Wonder. Later, the tooltip showed the Thera tile having an "Expedition Base" (improvement?).That's true, but so far in the game "working" tiles only meant building improvements on them.
We know very little about the modern age though. Maybe we can work mountains late game? Would be neat.Of course, if you're playing as Pachacuti, you'll at least guarantee yourself game-wide bonuses for being next to mountains. But there's no way to continue working mountains.
It would be nice to get a Happiness yield from them, at the very least. We know very little about the modern age though. Maybe we can work mountains late game? Would be neat.
Either happiness or production I would imagine (also they would be a good place to hide modern resources)It would be nice to get a Happiness yield from them, at the very least.
Indeed, Mesoamerica and the Andes should each have their own historical paths. It seems they decided to treat Mesoamerica and South America as one big historical bloc: Latin America - however nonsensical that may be.
The Incas not having a predecessor is quite strange; I hope this gets addressed soon.
I wouldn't be sure if they introduce a Muisca leader or not. If they do, they can easily find some university academic who speaks a reconstructed "academic" version of the Muisca language. Sadly, there are no native Muisca speakers since the 18th century. They could also use a Native U'wa speaker (they still exist), which is the closest language to Muisca that is still used to the present day.I suspect Muisca might be a little more likely.
It’s actually Machu Pikachu. It provides lighning bolt attacks to all your units.
The “mountain tiles can be worked” brings in some questions and ideas:
- “working” a tile now means placing a rural district: is it any of the ones we know (farm/camp/mine), or does it mean inca get “double” unique infraestructure? (I get probably will be mine)
- gameplay wise, this means inca can count on easy access to “other side of the mountain” resouces that for other civs will be difficult to reach.
The Pachacuti video doesn't have any visible improvements on Mountains. I think this'll kind of be the exception; mountain tiles will just be automatically worked without an improvement.
When I saw the bonus I was really wondering what it would mean, but I think Krikkit1 answer is the more likely one, that mountains are workable in modern age, keeping with the idea of "expanding" the map in every age, and that was what some people even theorized before that maybe mountains and ice tiles may be available in a modern age in some way.But the Terrace Farms adjacent to them will get bonuses.
(also, it is possible/ likely that Mountain Tiles may be workable in Modern era for everyone)
Their path are whacky anyway, it was whacky since they said Egypt historical choice was into songhaiIndeed, Mesoamerica and the Andes should each have their own historical paths. Yeah it should be clear to everyone by now that not all civs are going to get a nice path at launch because the priority was to have a big variety of civs.Their path are whacky anyway, it was whacky since they said Egypt historical choice was into songhai
That's the issue with having "historical" path and limited civ amount
