New NESes, ideas, development, etc

I know what you're going to say.

And my answer to it is that I didn't really want to run that NES. I merely did it because I said I would run an NES, and this was my least bad idea at the time.

So, my idea is a Cold War NES, fairly althistory in order to allow maybe three more GPs. It would basically be based on espionage, backroom diplomacy, proxy wars, etc. The GPs would be forced to work through smaller powers, due to constraints on their fighting ability.

Updates would be bare bones, and a co-mod would be nice. Thoughts?

We did have KhanNES I fairly recently, which was really fun and was basically this. It was unfortunately too short :(

I might also do a personal NES, maybe something along the lines of modern day magic. Or a tournament.

Would a Choose Your Own Adventure where the participants vote on which path for the single character to take be better here or in Other Games?

I'm thinking of starting one at some point, but I'm not sure where to put it.

That probably fits better in Other Games, but honestly it's mostly a matter of which community you'd rather play with. ;)

For practical reasons, put it here. The only other place you could would be Forum Games, and that forum has been all but comatose since IOT and Mafia/NOTW were spun off.

Sweet.

On that note, 12.5 of Chapter 1 of the CYOA is done. Ill be running it parrallel to SPQR when im done with the plotting.

"Hey, kid!"

"Yeah?"

"Aren't you tired of always playing the same stereotypical fantasy races, or, let's say, humans, in your NES games?"

"Well, yeah, a bit, but it isn't as if someone is providing for a NES where you can be something else. There was one by EQandcivfanatic, and there were Dragonson's RPG NESes, but apart from that, nothing."

"Fret no more! Soon, in the upcoming MilarNES IV: Dawn of Ages, you will be able to play anything you want to play as!"

"Anything?"

"Yes, anything!"

"Even elves that eat their enemies but think that cutting off a tree is a crime?"

"Yes!"

"Fallen angels that can fly using their wings and strike from the sky?"

"You can bet your arse!"

"People that can use magic through the word and the will?"

"Indeed!"

"Anthromorphized rats with a penchant for ridiculous weaponry based in magic?"

"Sure!"

"Machine-gun toting centaurs?"

"Well, for that, you'll have to wait. Because you have to develop your technology up to that point, and it'll take some time before you can reach that. But, yes, with time, even that will be possible for you.

"Then, I only have a question: Where do I sign for this?"

"Right here, under these names."

If you want to be the next in the list, say so, and stay tuned! In about 12 hours, I'll create the thread for the new game!

Question: Would you have the option of playing as an individual character, or are you having to play as a nation?

Which leads me to think - perhaps there is potential for a state-based NES, but where the players are individuals and the setting is pre-radio (or FTL drive but no ansible) so delay of orders is a real concern. Ideally players are able to play in any state, and at most any rank.

So how many of you would be interested in a NES where you play as a corporation? Your goal is to take over the government, create monopolies, buy out countries, and exploit the people of the world to create a corporatocracy. I have some basic plans drawn up, but I want to see what you think.

DISCLAIMER: The concept is purely for SATIRICAL PURPOSES. I do not mean to be insulting anyone.

I has an idea a while back about an NES focusing on tactics/war in a fictional early 17th century location. I had written a huge paragraph a few days ago all about it but then I accidentally hit backspace while the text box was not selected :cringe:.

Would anyone be interested in something like that? I have a lot of ideas still.
