None Shall Pass [Game Thread - Concluded]

ATPG why are you claiming both of last night's attackers are vigilantes? How on earth is Emperor Palpatine supposed to be a vigilante?

Kennegit, if you really are town, back down from your shenanigans. We don't need to infight before day, like, seven. Or ten. The cults will tear us both apart. One town doesn't have the strength to beat both scum teams. It's just like WWII, except Palpatine isn't a vegetarian, and Sauron is also trying to invade Germany.

:twitch:

...

Alright. Let's see where we're at.

The whole ATPG/Visorslash debacle was very strange. If I were to guess, both are townie, yet feel that the other must surely have some sort of scummines about them. Even I as a newcomer know that ATPG is infamous for hiding well, due to always appearing overly knowledgeable, yet always deriving this from legitimate public posts. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that ATPG is Star Wars town and Visorslash LotR town. Just my impressions. Meaning both are likely to get eliminated soon by the other team's vigilate(s), unless these vigilante(s) realize that the cults (both the SW and LotR cults) are probably more significant threats to both sides then the other town is.

Therefore, I submit neither person should be lynched by the public, and we should instead look for those that might be legitimately scummy.

- My dcmort vote was RNG yesterday. I do not feel that he is a legitimate vote, not having enough evidence against him tbh. Ye, he flinched. I do as well. As a matter of fact, I flinch harder when I am town then not. A bad habit, but a truth at this point. I'm willing to hold off until we have more evidence.

- Gone 3 the Celt just self-votes all the time. The games I've seen with him in it he very rarely actually flips scum for how often he is D1/D2 lynched. Could be wrong. But I would just ignore his actions for another day or two until he makes a legitimate argument. Bandwagoning him is easy for scum to hide in, at least early on.

- Double A/Kennigit. I have no clue. I don't like the Kennigit claim semi-randomly. I don't like the fast 3 votes following for Double A. This almost strikes me as a coordinated cult bandwagon to distract the town. And yet, if he were a townie truthfully that was legitimately targeted by Double A, would not Double A have the retort he showed? All at the same time Double A's reaction seems plausible for what he claims. I want to see this play out further before voting either way.

I got nothing to back down from. It's other people's choice how they want to proceed.

You do, though: Your ridiculous policy of proliferating a town war. I'm sure Zaccino balanced the game to make it next to impossible to win for a townie if both factions fight each other, while easy relative to other large games if the town cooperated until they didn't have to. The only reasons to want the towns to fight are either backed by faulty logic ("We don't need the other guys!") or entirely scummy. In every split town game I can think of, the towns didn't cooperate, and the towns didn't win.

Double A has a good point.

Likewise, the vigilante(s) should be aiming to hit the scummier players rather then those who might be of a different town.

I'm quite content to keep my vote on Kennigit for the time being.

Well, I don't mean to be too rude here [I know I'm being aggressive], but I'm not proliferating a town war. I'm proliferating your specific death.

that's an important distinction that people in-the-know (and out-of-the-know) can recognise. If people want to lynch ATPG, that's probably fine. If people want to lynch me, that's definitely not fine, but I recognise that can happen.

If people really want to get into the nitty gritty of optimizing town vs cult dynamics, I think double A is a good lynch for today.

How did you arrive at the conclusion that I tried to convert you? Was it "dicks?" I think we all know I would've posted "ponies."

'Proliferate' is an intransitive verb.
Likewise, the vigilante(s) should be aiming to hit the scummier players rather then those who might be of a different town.
We don't know yet whom the vigilantes were trying to hit. But I remember Mace Windu's performance in the Zack&chox Star Wars game. :cringe:

We're not lynching Double A today. Especially because of some fake claim by a player who seems to be quite happy to get anyone who isn't him lynched.

Why is that, Kennigit? What has AA done to disturb you?

People always unfairly blame tk in that game. He was taking orders for the most part, and he certainly was not the worst townie in that game, not by a long shot.

OK, I is confuse. unvote; vote: Kennigit
J'accuse, Monsieur Spock Federation!

I know. *shudders*

Tak's confus and it isn't even Caturday yet.

I'm not happy with anyone besides me, but I am happy with some people getting lynched. Double A is one of them.

I also do want to point out the distinction between starting a war and starting a knowledge bomb. Considering Aragorn tried to kill a LOTR townie last night (it seems), things need to get organised first.

People want to pretend a little symbiotic relation or Cold war relation between LOTR and Star Wars town would exist when both sides run around with their heads cut off. See Takhisis above, happy to go for double A and happy to go for me, for no reasons actually specified anywhere.

now I have a good question: anyone believe everything is symmetrically balanced? I don't.

At first it sounded as if you had a good case on Double A. Then it turns out you made it up. What am I supposed to do, keep my vote on him? We still have a pizzawagon to counter.

Explain.
