To quote James T. Kirk: "What does God need with a starship?"
Need? Nothing. Want on the other had? Well, if I were a god, I would definitely use my powers to make a starship. Why? because starships are awesome. And whats the point of that much power if I can't do awesome things with it?

Whats a starship when you can create universes?

There's a story by Borges, titled something like "three versions of Judas", where god is actually Judas - he did that out of love of modesty, taking all the blame.

I heard a theory Judas thought Jesus was God and he wanted a confrontation between Jesus and the Romans to liberate the Jews

Starships are like Noah's Ark: imaginary.

So imagine it was true, there exists a realistic chance that you once actually met and interacted with that almighty god.
So, recently, when I think about that, I did go out and asked a couple of people around me that:
- Are you the reincarnation of God?

You clearly didn't ask my dead dad. His answer would have been yes.

Everything amazing starts as an idea. Even things you need to learn have always been there.

What came first, the Egg, or you thinking of Omelettes?

Water? Or are you thinking that with light came disparity?

If you stop to think about it, we're living on an organic starship right now. Mind you, it's parked in orbit around the Sun because we don't know how to make it go anywhere else, but the Sun is traveling around the centre of the Milky Way, which is traveling with the Local Group, as part of the Virgo Cluster. And at that point I lost track of where everyone's going.

In 3 days I will have completed my 59th trip around the Sun. If the world governments had concentrated on science instead of war, I might have been able to go somewhere else (at least Mars; people are only half as old there, since the year is twice as long ;)).

Something awesome to cruise around your universes in
But if you're omnipotent, you can just be wherever you want instantly, no travel time or method required.

That seems to be the interpretation that Rice & Webber were going for in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar.

(the guy who played Judas in the first production I worked on in 1981 was an absolutely fantastic singer)

It's about the journey, not the destination. And the journey's gonna be better in a cool starship, even if you're a god.

People have searched for ET, but have anyone tried to search for a god?
According to Christian Theology(and probably any other religions), the almighty god does reincarnate.
And according to it, they reincarnate into humans, homo sapiens sapiens.
....

Interesting. What Christian Theology says this? Do you have a source?

Yeah, reincarnation is not present in Christian theology, to my knowledge. Buddhists are all for it, but Christians..?

True God from true God, begotten not made.

There are promises about when the man comes around.

It was present in some of the writing of the early church father, Origen. Progression of the soul bringing it closer and closer to God over many lifetimes with the end being salvation for all in the end.

Well, I guess Q liked starships, and Harry Kim was all for the journey. And for all that he was in such a hurry to get home to his parents, he's the member of the bridge crew who shipped out the fastest on another ship after they did make it back to Earth.

Yeah, for thousands of years. So far we've found nothing.

Let me ask you though.. What if god was one of us? Just a poster like one of us? Just a stranger on the bus? tryin to make his way home?

If god had a face, what would it look like? AND WOULD YOU WANT TO SEE!??! or run away?

Having said all that, how do you look for a god anyway? Most gods are conveniently defined to be non-detectable. They are invisible and leave no trace. Sounds impossible, much like trying to find an invisible Hungarian unicorn. How would you look for one?

Joan of Arcadia was good for awhile (I started watching because Joan was played by an actress who used to be on General Hospital), but then they brought the devil into it, and it went downhill to cancelation thisfast.

One of my favorite songs.

I think there is some confusion here between incarnation and reincarnation...Christians believe that God was made incarnate, but that's totally different from reincarnation. I mean, in my understanding the whole point of the Christian theology on this is that God was just incarnated the one time.
