Why are you against the community center?
Its a mosque, and I am against it because it does exactly the opposite of what it is proposed to do. i.e. build peace.

Seriously, ther are no legal arguments against such a building.

Besides that, most people (here at least) have no moral arguments against it either. And those who due are based on ignorance and fear
What majority? The majority in a rigged poll conducted only by one right leaning newspaper only in New York? While that is a majority in that group, if you look at the majority here at CFC we are all in favor of it.MobBoss said:The majority appears to agree with me (as usual),
Read it.Edward R. Murrow said:We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men."
No one said there were any legal hurdles against them building the mosque.
The main hurdle they face is financial.
Public opinion can affect that - legally.
I happen to think the argument against the mosque legitimate. The majority appears to agree with me (as usual), but you dont (as usual). Not much left to argue about I guess.
How? They get donations from other Muslims, and build the mosque. If they sent me a letter asking for donations I would donate to it. Just to spite the bigots.

Christian churches offend me can i stop them from being built
The majority of CFC isnt proof of anything. We all know the demograph here, and of course its going to vote along those lines.
No, its not based on ignorance or fear. Your simple labeling of the mosque opposition is typically dismissive of most who dont like the fact that people could actually have a legitimate reason to oppose the mosque. Instead of acknowledging it, you simply dismiss it.
I dont think thats a very effective counter to peoples public opinion. Especially when its not based on fear or ignorance at all.
