Playing ottomans for the first time. I see the 8th governor Ibrahim has some later upgrades which could be useful for settling him in a foreign capital. But I can also settle him to a city state. Should I do that and why?

He doesn't seem to have any advantages to going to a city-state from what I can tell, so I wouldn't send him there. Other than that, I guess it's context.

If you're at war or preparing for it you probably want him at home to bolster your production and improve unit performance.

If at peace, then probably in a foreign capital to take advantage of the grievance and loyalty pressure reduction.

Of course, that's assuming that you have the appropriate promotions. If you don't have any 2nd or 3rd level promotions that are relevant to foreign capitals, you might as well keep him at home.

Hi!

Basically, I have OCD, and the only major issue I have with the game is this one very specific problem (It just bothers me to no end).

In Civ V, when you access the city production panel you can 'permanently' keep the categories minimized.
So If I opened the panel and minimized the 'Units' category....it would stay minimized the next time I clicked the city production panel.

In Civ VI, when I minimize the categories, it doesn't stay minimized. Is there a way to edit the game files to keep it minimized?

(I know it seems like a super minor issue, but it just 'triggers' my OCD)

Does anyone know if we will ever get a mod that stops at a certain era, we used to have the real era stop but that doesn't work anymore.

How does the Righteousness of the Faith bonus work exactly? Every worship building of my religion constructed by other players will give +10% faith/science/culture to all my cities? So if a player build 5 of them all my cities will get +50% of said yields?

Couldn't one move a Great General from a port? It seems on can move it only from a citycenter to another citycenter or port, which is insufficient, if citycenter and port are not adjacent and the port is part of a small sea-zone. Where to post this: bug or suggestion?

Ok I'm assuming you're talking about a Great Admiral, and not a Great General, since you mention ports and sea-zones.

a GA (Great Admiral) can be moves in two different ways (actually, all Great Peoples work that way).:

1) If in a city center, you can click on the 'city' Icon and move it instantly to any other city center in your empire. Those City centers will highlight in green and you can then choose one
2) It can move outside city centers just like any other units, by clicking on a destination. You must NOT click on the 'city' icon before you do that. just click on the unit and move it to the tile you want to move it to.

Hope this helps

Looks like you can't declare a War of Liberation as a Joint War, which is kind of ridiculous; you can liberate cities for an ally, but he can't declare war with you.. I'm not sure any of the vanilla CBs work with Joint Wars.

Hi!

I've finally started playing Civ 6 after the expansions and some essential mods have come out. Too much small frustrating things at launch, and the cartoonish vibe I personally couldn't stand. Now that most of the things are fixed, I have one question:

Is it possible to make the fog of war (the unexplored drawn map) cover the entire area through a mod or otherwise? I mean there is this clear indication where the map borders end at the polar areas, even though I have not explored there yet. I like exploring and this breaks immersion for me, not a big deal but still...

Anyone able to answer? I would be grateful. :)

I've not tested yet but if Head Falconer or Serasker works in a city-state, your unit near the city may get benefit...?
If it doesn't work, the assignment to city-state may be just bug.

So get a city state which is about to be conquered, plant your units around so that it won't be, plant Ibrahim and declare war on the attacker? I'll have to see if someone will attack my city states from now on..

Is there a limit of active emergencies in the unmodded game, like there can only be one active at a time or something like that?
I had in the last two games not one aid request. There were quite a lot of military emergencies though.

Yes I meant Great Admirals. And my "problem" is: GA spawns on a harbor/port with no oportunity to "beam" to another port/harbor/city. Because there are still small sea-zones in which it is not "necessary" to have ships in the first place - but the additional traderoute is wanted and the citycenter is inland.

ok move your great admiral from the harbor to the city center, then you can "port" to any other city center or harbor you own. The only way this will not work is if the GA spawned in a harbor where the city center is NOT adjacent to coast; If that's what happened to you, then you're in very bad luck. If the harbor is in a lake, the GA is useless,
might as well retire it immediately.

Is Hellenistic Fusion supposed to keep giving extra boosts after you have captured a city? I built a Campus in a captured city and got a eureka. If so, it makes the ability even stronger. *Note: Playing Rise and Fall.

Two questions: how does religious spread via trade routes work - because it shows only 0.5 if I send trade rout from a converted to another converted city? Does the ice melt - at what stage of climate change does the ice melt ( so that you could sail where there used to be ice?
