EDIT: Those amphi bonuses from city states, so all good, but what gives the harbor worker bonus?

**************

If people working in harbor is supposed to produce 2+2 (food/gold), why I have 4+4? I don't have any policy that would affect?

Then I have Amphitheater that is supposed to give +2 culture, but if I build one, it's +6.

Is it some tech or something to do with eras changing?

Is Hellenistic Fusion supposed to keep giving extra boosts after you have captured a city? I built a Campus in a captured city and got a eureka. If so, it makes the ability even stronger. *Note: Playing Rise and Fall.
No, Hellenistic Fusion only gives eurekas for pre existing Campuses (campii?).

Building the Campus may have triggered a eureka, though. For example, building 3 speciality districts gives the eureka for Mathematics, so if you had already built a CD and a TD, then that would trigger it. Or maybe you just happen to have a scout that found a tribal village that gave it, or something. Or it's a bug.

No, it gave the specific message as if I captured it when I built it. So it is probably a bug. I am easily able to reproduce it on the Switch. Don't have PC.

Is it patched in Gathering Storm?

I just finished building an encampment and this is what the picture say of the eureka:

I have it on the Switch too, what are the conditions, I'll try and replicate it? I've never had that issue and Alexander is one I used to play all the time, it probably is new bug with the patch that came out yesterday (there are a few new ones), or possibly during the time I stopped playing for the last little while. I'm assuming that you don't have the XPs? It's unlikely to be fixed by GS, if it was fixed, it would be in the general patch, not in an XP.

But yeah, definitely not an intended feature of HF. HF is crazy powerful already if you're good at conquest (particukarly combined with R&F age mechanics), if building districts triggered them too, Alexander would be njgh unstoppable.

PS: In my previous post, I forgot that captured Encampments as well as Campuses triggered HF.

If a district is pillaged and needs repair, can you still build a wonder that normally would require it?
I'm planning to take a city that has a harbor and I will have a bad time dealing with loyalty... I'd like to send a great engineer to get the statue of liberty immediately after taking it. But I've pillaged the harbour... Will I have to repare ir before building the wonder?

I have expansions, but I generally play on the Rise and Fall ruleset because I like it better than with GS. I am using the latest version, 1.2.4.0 is the number I think.

Hi everyone. Just have a quick question. I'm an ex Civ 5 player. Loved the game. Due to work, etc. i had to stop gaming overall.
Now i just got myself a nice new computer and want to start gaming again. I see that the game is most enjoyable when "gathering storm" is installed. So should i play Civ 6 and in a few weeks/month install gathering storm or do you suggest i install gathering storm right away and play from there? Want to make sure i get the most out of the game. Thank you! Looking forward to be an active member of the community again.

As I understand it (and please correct me if I'm wrong), the cost of settlers and builders goes up as you build more of them. Is that calculated based on how many my empire has built? Or how many a given city has built? IOW, can I mitigate those costs by building settlers in different cities rather than all from one place?

Have you built the Great Library? I have a slight memory of the great scientist boost gives a similiar message.

It´s the empire wide count that decides the cost. Same with builders and religious units.

With GS it is a substantially different game, a big change being the strategic resources becoming countable, which is either a positive or a negative.

That said, personally, I don't think it would help playing it without and then with GS. GS adds a [substantial] layer, rather than fundamentally changing the game. I'd just jump straight in.

Definitely not. As I built more districts in captured cities, I got more and more boosts. It was very powerful. I never had to go for any Eureka because I had insane numbers of them by building districts in captured cities.

Yeah, just dive straight into GS. You can't even play my favorite civ, the Maori, without it!

Seems your bug happens to me now - seems to be a recent one.

Yes, it's clearly a bug but incredibly overpowered. Makes Macedon even easier. :D
