Maybe not so simple a question, but as I consider returning for another round what's the status with mods in Civ VI?

When I gave it a try a year ago things were terrible. I could be wrong but from what I was able to piece together there's a entity limit in the game and with all the random stuff DLC's added in if you say added a unit expansion mod and a building expansion mod to the game it would overload it and some 50-100 turns in your game would crash. To get a stable game a had to take an extremely minimalist approach with mods and just wasn't satisfied. Is that still the case? And if so are there any workarounds?

theres a way to go into settings and disable leader voicelines & animations, after which you can go into the files and rename all the ones that contain leader model data so they're still there if you want em back, but the game doesn't recognize them and gives up trying to load em in the first place. this frees up considerable space for mods to add assets, but it's still not ideal. i got some pretty bad crashing after leaders of sahara dropped (like, crash civ6 *and* another unrelated app like discord) which was only resolvable after reinstalling the whole game and massively pruning the mods i use, esp visually intensive ones. imho if you wanna use more than like 12ish asset-adding mods including leugi's city styles i'd hold off for if they end up upping the asset limit by the end of the leader pass, cos even if they work now, as they add more leaders theres just more new assets to possibly overload the game it seems. someone pls correct me if im wrong on that tho

It took me weeks, but I FINALLY got enough GPP to recruit a Great Merchant. With this Great Merchant I have a very big decision to make, because I can only use it to do one thing. The Great Merchant can...

Create Perfume or
Found a CORPERATION for any of the following resources...

Marble
Ivory
Dyes
Whales
Pearls
Silver
Salt
Cocoa
Tea

Before I ever got the Great Merchant, the game popped up with an Era Score that told me I had a Monopoly on Marble in the world.

What decision would you guys choose to do with the Great Merchant? Would you go for the Perfume, or a Product, and which product would you 'Found a Corperation' for?

It took me ages to get this one Great Merchant, so I'd be lucky if I even got just one more before the game ends. It seems like the Culture/Tourism of the top 3 Civs (mine included) is starting to overtake the other Civs now.

If you are having issues with amenities, make perfume. If you are already about to win a culture victory then the corporation will be more like a cherry on top. But if your amenities are fine, then just make the corporation.

Thanks, I'll either give that a try or wait for the new leader pass to see if it changes anything. Is there any effect from what game options from the last DLC bundle you enable?

im assuming you mean like game modes? like monopolies & corporations, etc.
those do in fact load new assets and so will decrease the remaining assets mods can load before the game goes wonky on you. im assuming different ones add different amounts but idk how much

Can't figure out encampment. Only prerequisite is bronze tech and never have the option to build encampment. What is needed to be able to build encampment?

That tech, plus it can't be built in the inner most ring. So it has to be built in ring 2 or ring 3.

Plus, it's a district. If you've already built a Holy Site or Campus in a city as the first district, you need to grow the city to build the encampment as the 2nd or 3rd district.

The second expansion is Gathering Storm, Rise & Fall was the first. You can select between them by changing the ruleset in the game setup. You have a choice between "Standard" (vanilla), "Rise & Fall" and "Gathering Storm". Gathering Storm requires Rise & Fall rules, so by having GS on, you have R&F on, so if you don't want R&F rules, you'll have to play "Standard", which is vanilla Civ 6, and will disable a lot of your options (any civs, wonders, rules, etc from R&F, GS and any DLC content, including NFP ones, that relies on R&F or GS).

R&F has the rules about different eras (golden, dark, etc), GS is centered on climate change.

Thank you. I thought I was playing vanilla, but started seeing clmate events. Is there a way in a current game, or saved file, to see what options were selected at start of game?

Question: what's the easiest way to see the current build in all cities? Seems like have to scroll around the map a lot and sometimes click on city tab to see build.

If you have Gathering Storm, there is a multi-queue you can access from the city-production queue, if I remember correctly.

QUESTION
Other than running a map search which shows other civs as well. How can you see how many units of X do you have? [Maintenance is so low, they don't show in yield screen]
This is in vanilla civ6. I don't think there is an easy way, but wanted to ask.

You can limit a search to a specific civ if you type the civ's name after what you are looking for. So if you type "warrior Greece" it will only show Greek warriors.

There is also the unit tracker but that's just a list of all you units you have.

Great.

Another simple question. After thru info age and just future sci option, in vanilla, is there a way to eliminate libraries, university, and unneeded buildings?

No, you cannot raze your own buildings … or districts or wonders. Whether it’s vanilla or all the upgrades.

Does Tomyris' ability stack with the Rout promotion? Would Scythia's heavy cavalry have +10 bonus CS vs damaged units?
