by what logic do the Yosemite not count as Mountains ??

Because its a natural wonder. That's just how they work. Even though Crater Lake provides fresh water you can't use it to build an aqueduct.

Although, just to be completely inconsistent, Barbarian Camps can build galleys on Lake Victoria . . .

is there a way to search for resources (strategic/bonus/luxury) on the map ? Like a lens that highlights a specific resource, atleast in your empire ? If not in vanilla, is there a mod ?

Yes, there is a search button above the mini map, and is a magnifying glass as @Bonyduck Campersang said. You can look for a type of resource (luxury, strategic) or for a specific one (niter, sliver). If you want to look in just a specific empire type, for example, "Iron Russia(n)" and all Iron in Russian territory will be highlighted.

Playing GS and for some reason I don't have a sudden war option against 1/3 civs. I don't have an alliance with any civ, all civics are researched and techs are in atomic era. So I have to denounce and wait. Any idea why sudden war is not available?

You may not be allies, but you’re probably declared friends (represented by the teal smiley face). That also blocks surprise wars.

Is one of them Canada? I can't declare a surprise war against Canada, not even when they complain about my troops massing on their border.

They said they can still denounce so that's not what is going on. It might be a World Congress resolution but I can't remember one blocking surprise wars.

it seems it doesnt match the ones that are under a district tho :/ . I was confused where i was getting niter from until i realized it was under a district in my city lol

so i guess in a case like that my only option would be to see which city is producing the resource in the report screen and then inspect every district tile in the city ?

It should show you resources under a district as well. It did for me.

Also, when you finish a tech that unlocks a new resource, you get a notification about all copies of that resource in your empire.

Playing GS and later in game getting religion. This has happened the last 2 games. I have between 7 and 9 cities that were no formal religion. Upon choosing a religion 1/2 of cites are now following my religion. Questions:
-- is this normal? If so, might it be better to delay religious beliefs?
-- is there a way of telling which cities will gain religion? Is it as simple as IF holy site THEN adopts religion?

My understanding is that cities picking up your religion upon founding is normal. The city that you founded your religion in becomes the Holy City for that religion, and will definitely adopt that religion. I don't recall from previous plays if having a Holy Site in a city will also cause them to adopt upon founding, but I would think that's likely.

Your cities that haven't yet converted will feel some passive pressure to spread, but it's not very fast. If you're planning to choose beliefs that help your cities, then consider faith-buying some missionaries to do spreading domestically. I wouldn't delay adopting your 2nd belief; getting it sooner means that you'll have better choices.
