There is an interesting question regarding nuclear weapons and their interception. There are units that, according to their in-game descriptions, are capable of intercepting nuclear and thermonuclear bombs within a 1-tile radius, such as the anti-air gun, SAM, missile cruiser, and giant death robot. However, in practice, only the giant death robot provides 100% protection against nuclear weapons, and only within a 1-tile radius.

The robot can be destroyed by two thermonuclear missiles if they strike within a 2-tile radius of the robot. But what can be done if you don't have uranium and cannot retaliate with nuclear weapons or destroy uranium resource tiles?

Anti-air guns, SAMs, and missile cruisers seem to have some random chance of intercepting nuclear bombs, as I have seen some nuclear bombs being intercepted during my game sessions, but thermonuclear bombs seem impossible to shoot down. Victor has a promotion that increases air defense damage by +25, but it also does not provide a 100% chance to intercept nuclear bombs, for example, with a SAM.

If aluminum is available, I can attack a uranium resource tile using a bomber. However, if a worker improvement is placed on the tile, the bomber can no longer target it.

Question 1: How is the chance of intercepting nuclear weapons determined for all air defense units?
Question 2: How can you defend against nuclear weapons if you don't have them yourself?

NOOB question - how does one load/play the Game of the Month?
I only started playing Civ6 a year ago... and really love it. Play 3-4 hours per work night and 7-8 hours on weekends.
I only play on PS4 - is there a 'seed' somewhere to load the game?
I've noticed there is some attachment file - but it suggests I need to go to Microsoft app store... and that has me thinking this is for PC-folk only. (???)

The game of the month is apparently no longer available on PS 4, it used to be right there on the start page, where the links to Civ VII are now.

Possibly the people that were responsible for converting these scenarios are now involved in the development of the new game ?

^I'm referencing the CivFanatics' GOTM, yes.
They look fun.
I realize nobody wants to discuss them beyond their time (and that 95% of you have moved onto Civ VII)... but for me it's a challenge to try something and see how I do versus other people who have tried them.

[I did try some of those Firaxis monthly games... but usually found I only liked maybe 1 in every 5.]

Well, from this thread (GOTM of March 2025) :

It seems that you need a computer unfortunately. I don't know if it would be feasible with seeds and correct exact same settings. If it is, then it would be cool to be a thing. I guess Civfanatics administrators do not care too much about consoles versions.

As for me, I have well enough to do against the AI in (randomly ) Deity or even (occasionally) multiplayer to care too much about GOTMs, unlike the holy era of Apolyton where I could compete quite nicely, call it less competition and/or more skill from my part. :old:

GotM cannot currently be played on consoles as we cannot find a way to get the save into the console
Couldn't that work with the seeds and correct settings in Civ6 particularly though ? Gonna check your links. ;)
EDIT : So I could see your efforts and concerns, sorry for claiming otherwise. :)

Thanks for reply.
So - this is NOT a good place for NOOBS to ask questions?
We have forums for specific areas, like Game of the Month. Your questions will be answered much quicker and by the staff there.
Hope you saw the links, you might have seen them had you gone there and not have had to ask? :)

Moderator Action: So enough about Game of the Month here please
