Sorry about your situation. For better or worse, our society cares more about property owners' rights than tenants' rights.

I don't know your financial situation, but maybe this is a sign to start looking into homeownership.
The situation isn't desperate but it's not great. I was able to build up a nest egg for emergencies that's floating us while I'm unemployed but it's not enough to put down payment on a house, much less in a market like southern California. Even if I wanted to move to a lower cost of living area, there aren't jobs in those areas I'm interested in.

I don't have enough for a tiny home either without depleting my nest egg. I'd also have to get rid of most of my stuff to fit it all in there or rent a storage locker.

This sucks man I am sorry :(

Have you tried no longer being a temporarily embarrassed millionaire?

I was brushing my teeth and the toothbrush snapped in half. I didn't think I was brushing that hard. Now I have to get a new toothbrush.

There are no good mobile games out there. All the ones that look like they might be decent are all multiplayer cash grabs, so just...no.

That depends on what you define as "good". I have a half a dozen apps that I have paid less than £2 (at the most!) for and I'm pretty happy with them.

Moba games mostly not pay to win, I play Mobile Legends (very rarely) and Onmyoji Arena (Japanese), Onmyoji Arena is so coolll the character design and all of that, but sometime the match up can takes time...

The rest I play mostly I bought the game, the most expensive game I bought is Final Fantasy 4 sequel, the other that you may find interesting perhaps Crash Lands. It's an rpg in futuristic setting, so you playing as an alien who becomes an alien in other alien's planet, it's funny and very fun game to play, but can be quite grindy though (no in app btw).

Fired one of the security guards today because she refused to work the schedule she was given. Normally I wouldn't be so harsh because I used to be a security guard so I know how crap their schedules can be, but she just got real nasty about it, so I just got rid of her.

She was upset because she had to work weekends and had split days off (Tuesday and Friday). She's new and while she was training she worked Monday through Friday, but she was told when she was first hired that schedule would not be her permanent schedule. She said that was fine during the interview (say anything to get the job I guess). But when she saw her days off and that she'd be working weekends, she threw a fit using all kinds of expletives and just flat out said "I don't work weekends" in this real snotty tone. I told her that I'll see what I can do, even though I'm not in charge of their schedule since they work for another company. As soon as she was gone I got on the phone with her company and said this coming Monday is going to be her last day working on our property.

So yeah, I'm not going to let her know she's fired until after she works the weekend. "I don't work weekends" my butt. She's going to work the weekend then she's going to get transferred from our $15/hour site to some crappy $9/hour site. Hopefully she'll learn to be a little more humble and professional.

Bit mean to lie to her maybe? Don't see how that's professional either.

Try Polytopia. Fallout Shelter is pretty good too but Polytopia is my favorite mobile game ever.

Standard policy for any contractor or employee that is being terminated. The idea is to avoid getting people angry and agitated while they are in the facility where they might try to cause damage or start a physical confrontation. Best to let them know they are terminated when they are at home so they can be kept out of the facility and we know their badge access has been disabled.

I stepped in cat vomit. :ack:

My son's brand new bike got stolen while he was in class today. Partly his fault, the silly plonker, because although he'd threaded his bike-lock through the wheel/frame, he didn't also attach it to an immovable object (because apparently there were no bike-stand places available) :hmm: :shake:

Turns out that he wasn't the first, either: another bike was stolen from the school last week, but nobody thought to notify/warn the student body. And imminent building/refurbishment works in the school-grounds mean that very soon there will be even fewer bike-stands available

Household contents-insurance will cover the cost of a replacement, but even so...

That sucks dude. I've had two bikes stolen from me and it's super frustrating because the cops aren't interested in helping with that sort of crime.

Rant: I bought a new pair of scissors because mine had gotten lost. But it's in a clamshell package that I'll probably need a pair of scissors to open.

When our office moved they were throwing out some office supplies so we grabbed a container with about 50 pairs of scissors. Good thing, we've already broken about a dozen of them over the last 5 years.

After a few near-accidents, I managed to get it pried open with a kitchen knife. At least it's a nice pair of scissors.

Not really happy with the online driver today, his hygine is meh also his attitude, and once in a while I smell smart in. the air, the smell not strong enough for me to confront him but it is there, what a day

PUBG mobile is actually pretty fun, but it's kind of a time sink if you don't die right off the bat

there's also Boggle and Music Hero (Guitar Hero, but you can play your own music on it) and Musicverse (Audiosurf, literally copy pasted). Simple Rockets, Simple Planes are both decent titles as well.

That's one reason I keep utility knives around. I once needed one of those things to open the safety seal on a jar of peanut butter.
