A couple weeks ago I had the random thought that I have been on here long enough that it was only a matter of time before someone I knew here died, if it hadn't already happened without us knowing about it as people do sometimes just disappear.
The reality of the thing sucks. I am grateful to have found out that it happened instead of being left to wonder. Thank you @Timsup2nothin for letting us know.

That well and truly sucks. He was so looking forward to his retirement, and more golfing. Hope he got some done.
Even if I didn't agree with all of his politics, I always really enjoyed reading his posts. If anyone is in contact with his family, please pass on my condolences.

My doctor now requires phone appointments before she'll see you in person.
So I have a phone appointment with her booked. Earliest available slot? September 11.
After that, it will be at least another two weeks before I can see her IRL and get a referral or lab form. And who knows how long it'll be to see them.
It's a good thing I'm so fat.
I've dropped twenty pounds in three weeks. I might only be slightly obese instead of morbidly obese by the time I get to a lab.

We had a massive anti-corona demonstration in Berlin (I knew that, at least), but it seems that the right-extremist mob nearly managed to storm the parliament.
WTH, this is not supposed to be a crumbling democracy, but one of the most stable and rich countries in the world. How does this happen o_O?

I agree with your outrage but the last thing I want is dangerous idiots with dangerous diseases. Both are bad enough independent of each other.

The inner CD tray may be on a hinge that swings open in the opposite direction from the front cover. So you open the front by swinging it to the left, and the inner tray opens to the right. It might have little tabs that keep it latched to the spine of the case that you have to gently open.
