Yup. ABP has one especially for YouTube. There are others so you can customize your viewing/listening experience. I never see ads on that site.

To drive my little car, the capacity for damage of which is limited to hurting individual people, I need 7 figures worth of liability insurance. To sail around to world in 200k tons of ship it seems there is no such requirement. If they needed say 9 figures worth of liability insurance for such things, A) they are less likely to cut a corner by sailing past coral reefs of global importance to shave off a few hours in a trip from China to Brazil while having a party and B) the resources to deal with the spill would be available immediately, rather than being promised after the ship has broken up, 3 weeks after the accident.

I had a friend on Facebook that shared that baloney. What happened to the good old right? We had the 600-ship navy, Pershings in Europe, ready at a moment's notice when the you-know-what hit the fan in case of Soviet aggression. We face a new aggressor now, and the right buckled. Caved. Threw in the towel.
We can spend a trillion dollars in Iraq to fight a bunch of local insurgencies that would fight each other all the time anyway. Who gives a turd? But we spend a trillion at home, ask people to wear masks... and outrage? What the h-e-double hockeysticks?
Patriotism isn't just flag-waving! Statues? BLM? Cancel culture? Whatever. Fight the real enemy, not the flash-in-the-pan wedge issue.
I already left my major rant in the corona thread yesterday, so this time a minor one:

I can only wholeheardetly recommend uBlock Origin, which I have found to be better than ABP in every way, shape and form.
uBlock Origin + Privacy Badger is my personal combination of choice.

if the rants above involve this reported Japanese ship that broke up somewhere , knock on wood that there was no American destroyer on its path .
also there was no 600 ship navy , supposedly bounced back from 594 or whatever because it was costing far too much and could not be sustained anyhow because there were far too many Gearings which would inevitably fall by the wayside .

I think maintaining a good metabolism is more important than working out. Although some exercise helps with that.

I'm a little bummed out that Daniel Cormier didn't use his wrestling more against Stipe Miocic. I'm not upset at the result, I didn't have a favorite in that fight and Miocic is a beast, but I feel like Cormier didn't use everything in his toolbox. I guess Miocic didn't, either, come to think of it. I was expecting him to use his superior reach to jab more. Cormier was telling Miocic to "bring his wrestling shoes" before the fight, and now I wonder if that was a deliberate misdirect. I hope it was. I'd hate for D.C. to go into retirement thinking that he didn't follow the game-plan and left his best weapon in its holster in his final fight. I would also think that grappling would be easier than boxing if you've lost vision in one eye. There's a lot you do just by feel in grappling anyway, and D.C. has so much experience wrestling, I bet he could literally do it blind-folded. I'm curious what his corner-men told him after the eye-poke. Also, Cormier's emphasis on boxing makes me glad that he won't be fighting Francis Ngannou now - that'd be ugly.

Suddenly remembered BC sabotaging its election referendum so it would fail, and then the federal government simply canceling its promise of electoral reform as well. Mad. Give me ranked ballots.
Also, I thought I was getting better, but today it's bad again. That's what I get for getting uppity and thinking I could eat some boiled chicken and green beans yesterday.

Rant: Made pulled pork in my slow cooker today, but I forgot to trim the fat cap off of the shoulder cut so the pulled pork ended up super greasy. Adding to my annoyance, the recipe ended up too watery so I didn't get a nice sauce on the pork or much flavor beyond a vague porkiness.
Now I have like three pounds of pork left over.......
