You don't have any weighted classes?

Ouch.

I now has a postcount of OVER 9000!

(runs before people yell about how old that meme is)

It's Older than Feudalism! It's meme repetition UP TO ELEVEN!

For this quarter my weighted GPA is a 4.5, unweighted 3.75. I messed up Freshman year, though, my GPA from last year is a weighted 3.75. If I keep the grades I have this quarter until the semester ends, I'll have a weighted 4.0. Hopefully!

How does your weighting work? And what AP and Honors classes are you taking?

The honors classes I'm taking this year are English II, Algebra II, Civics and Economics, Sociology, and Physics, and then three regular classes (French I, Physical Fitness, and Creative Writing). My school doesn't allow us to take AP classes until junior year, go figure.

In regular classes, an A is a 4 and a B is a 3, etc.

In honor classes, an A is a 5 and a B is a 4, etc.

In AP classes, an A is a 6 and a B is a 5, etc.

and an F is always a 0.

My school doesn't offer any AP, in fact, there are a lot of schools around here that don't offer much in terms of AP. I do have honors classes, however. I don't know if it's weighted or not, but that doesn't actually matter as much as you'd think.

Hopeful Rave: All my current known Grades are A's! However, there are a couple classes that don't have any grade until the end of the marking period. (tomorrow)

Ah. My school puts AP classes on a 5 point scale and honors classes on a 4.5-point scale, and minus grades count for .33 less.

That's bizzare! I think all schools in America should be the same in terms of weighted GPAs. It'd make it more uniform for college applications.

I have 3 As and a B in Algebra II. Math is not my forte, lord no. Good luck! :)

As I understand it, most colleges only care about your unweighted GPA. Weighted GPA really only applies to determining valedictorian position at my school, so it's pretty much irrelevant to me.

I don't have any regular math classes this year, otherwise I'd probably have a B there. :p

I do have an ACT prep class, though, which regularly goes over Algebra II, Geometry, and Calc. It was between that and an extra Math class on my transcripts. I took the higher ACT score.

I would have loved it even more if they depicted that guy with the crazy hair. I wonder if they would have exaggerated his hair? Or did they depict him anyway and I missed him?

My high school added one point for AP classes and IB classes (which were started my junior year and if I recall not actually properly accredited until after I graduate), but nothing for normal honors classes.

A good friend of mine went to a school where they did not weight the GPA, but instead added 10 points to the numerical grade in AP grades. What would have been a B would count as an A, but there was no extra advantage to getting an A in an AP class. This system made the students' "unweighted" GPAs look better, and may have been more useful for college admissions though.

Nope, no weighted courses in my HS. Still graduated with a 3.8 GPA, ranked 55 out of 555, so not bad.

I didn't see him either? But nevertheless the show was amazing.

Rave: I'm back! My 3-day fever can suck it.

Rant: 4 days of HW to make up.

Also this discussion of GPA's makes me feel un-superior :(
