You do know they didn't intend for users to be completely blocked from it, right? They merely want to raise attention for SOPA and PIPA.

If the text were blacked out completely, it wouldn't show up in search results, which would loose a lot of potential awareness for the act.

This is part the reason why I dont black out my site (other than not wanting to use it for politics). Its not fully indexed yet. If I black it out for 24 hours the Googlebot can't go through it. If it was my old site which was indexed I would be able to.
