It's just as warm here, and I don't love it that much. I know it's August, but "Warm" and "Pacific Northwest" don't seem like two (fine, three :p) words that should ever be this close to each other.

Down in Oregon it is also really warm, being 102 two days ago.

I think a lot of people fear they will be overwhelmed with things to do at university, and then when they actually get there they realise there is very little to do, and spend most of their time playing games.

There is PLENTY of time for games. Even if you study first sem. Which I doubt because no-one does. Living by yourself is good in most ways. I enjoy it.

+1.

You will have enough time, as long as you can get your work done relatively fast. (ie: a one page informal essay shouldn't take more than 45 minutes, and that inlcudes procrastination)

Well this is a bit heartening! It means my indulgences during the steam sale won't go to waste!

Remember that in addition to studying, the university wants you to join their clubs (be it sport, creativity, music clubs, whatever) so they will naturally give you lots of time off.

Yeah, Iowa is really pushing this "pick one" thing where they want everyone to pick one activity.

Companionship has a way of taking the edge off that oftentimes. Truly rave worthy. My wife has put up with me for over 5 years! Well, and vice versa. :p

I just saw my favorite star for the first time in five months. :D

At an apparent magnitude of 4.865, it's a [b-word] to look for, especially here with a good amount of light pollution, and in spite of that moon out there, and my ever-so-slowly declining eyesight, I still saw it nonetheless. :)

Ordinary Version, the first Touhoumon Gold/Silver/Crystal hack, has released a public beta.

And I'm on the dev team. So happeh.

Mmmmmm I remember those days fondly. It would get so hot I would nearly faint. :) Growing up in Hong Kong and Singapore, the intense heat and humidity are surprisingly what I miss from those places.

I went to a fair last night and it started pouring down rain. That may not sound like a rave, but it worked out well. The rain didn't last long and not all the rides shut down. Plus, after the first few drops fell, there was a mass exodus to go inside. My friends stayed out and rode the rides with no lines.

Back from the mall, bought some clothing, I can see why it gets addicting... I like the feel of new clothing. My loot includes: 2 PJ pants (they were a bargain at 4$ ea (clearance), 2 graphic tees for 10$ ea, again clearance and two pairs of shorts at 10$ each, this time end of season sale. I'm a cheap bastard and I know it. :D

I was at the down town mall recently, where the prices are inflated but didn't buy because I was broke. However I remember seeing a couple items I really liked and I want to go back some time soon to pick them up.

As of 8:48 PM Rob McKenna has a lead over Inslee in the WA governor primary!

EDIT: Gah, King5 has Inslee in the lead!

So? It's the primary, which one of them takes first and which one takes second doesn't matter much.

No it doesn't, but it'd still be nice to see your favorite candidate in the lead.

Anyways, glad to see McKenna is making it to the actual election, though it's not a surprise.

Why the McKenna fanboyishness, anyway?

You like how he stands? :p
