Not sure I completely understand the analogy. What's a "photo negative"?

Hmmm, I remember photo negatives..

I think the Ubii or Sugambri had a sort of short braid/bun hairstyle that, if you had a set of mail and didn't mind going around like a ferocious bloodthirsty warrior, could look good on you.

there's literally nothing wrong with wanting to look like a samurai. I prefer a top knot, but a man bun can be pulled off aswell. really, anything can be pulled off with the right looks and some confidence.

"Mon Dieu, je peux lire cet article!" - a sentence probably so grammatically incorrect that it might be considered an insult to France - is what I thought to myself a few minutes ago after I had decided, kind of randomly, to visit a french news site. Yes, I was pretty amazed that I was able to just read through the article and kind of make sense of it (something about Macron selling weapons to Saudi-Arabia), given that I only had a single year of French in school, was terrible at it, and never even tried to pick up the language again since then.

Now I'm kind of intrigued... if I'm already decent enough at understanding the grammatical structure and a lot of the words, then I should be able to get to a decent level just by reading and listening to french content. That should be a lot of fun, right? After all, the boring part where you have to learn the basic structure of the language and enough words to be able to deduce the meaning of other words has already been done.
