Having a thymectomy in an hour. Hope everything goes okay. :eekdance:

Hopefully they do it in good thyme.

That was terrible. I apologize.

I had sort of a weird experience today.
I was walking outside with someone when he noticed a magpie stuck in a small plastic bag under a car. It was wailing around, clearly suffocating. After a few unsuccessful attempts, I was able to grab a hold of the bag, drag it out from under the car and sort of pull it off the bird, who immediately flew away.

It may be stupid of me because so many people experience this sort of thing way more often and way more intense than me, but it was kinda impactful dealing with a life and death situation, not to mention like the angle of human waste and destruction of nature.
You did a good thing.

FWIW there is a lot of overlap between "People who complain about not being able to kill children in Skyrim" and "People I would not let watch my child".

Do you have a similar overlap between "people who play Skyrim*" and "people who I would not allow around other humans"?

* or "most games"

Edit: Actually I wish this had been my reply -

'That's funny, because for me there is a lot of overlap between "people who can't tell fantasy from reality" and "people who shouldn't be allowed to have children".'

:)

I loved playing Skyrim when it was all modded up. I'd even go back to it.

I've been doing Nightmare Andy runs in Diablo 2...
Move on up to Path of Exile. Version 3.5 launches early December. The expansion announcement goes up in an hour and a half. :)

I hope the name of the Osean Federation isn't just a pun based on the first line of the Star-Spangled Banner.
It's not. It's supposed to be like pronouncing "USA" as a single word. In AC5, Osea was broadly modeled on the US, and Yuktobania was broadly modeled on Russia.

I hope so too.

Not fun. I was either sleeping or in pain the entire next day, couldn't pee, stand up, or breathe deeply, and vomited constantly despite having followed all the dietary rules. I knew 'House' was leaving all the messy details out, but jeez. You don't just wake up with a few stitches. :ack:

The good news is that it was only a fat globule, and being here has kept me insulated from the war.

The radio just played an incredibly confusing ad. They described some local musician who was playing at a local place, then ended with "Tickets are sold out. Tickets can be bought at [didn't catch the name]." What the?

Tickets are in superposition, both for sale and sold out at the same time.

The venue has no tickets left to sell (maybe, that could be a lie). Tickets are available at markup price from brokers, one of which paid for the ad.

I think that after a number of posts, or likes, or files uploaded to this god-forsaken site, one should be given the ability to place anyone (ok, other that thunderfall) on perm-ignore. It would help keep disgust in check.

Perhaps you should investigate your user profile settings some more.

It won't work. You'll just end up torturing yourself and reading them anyway. The only way is to leave this 'god-forsaken' site.

Why do any of you feel like putting other people on an ignore list? What do you hope to gain from that? I don't feel like there has ever been a user deserving to be on my ignore list, not even CivMan and his various alter-egos

People get on my ignore list by increasing my blood pressure too much. Of course, I usually just read their posts anyway because I'm a weirdo but w.e
