You know it's funny, when I was a swimmer I used to bring gatorade to practice, and I would fill the empty bottle with water from the water fountain, then I realized water was more satisfying anyway. This process took like two years to play out

gatorade is pretty satisfying after hard workouts, but I used it sparingly with like a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio of gatorade to water. Two bottles :p

I don't believe in dual climate control. The interior of a car is too small a space to keep climates separate. The passenger's 71 is going to find its way creeping into the driver's 68. It's just science.

I'm terrified for next Saturday. I really love him, but suddenly it feels so real that he's going to be living with me and I'm going to spend the rest of my life taking care of him.

Was fairly hot out today and at one point a guy I talked to briefly offered me "a water". And I dunno why I thought of it, but a few minutes later I was wondering about the language of it. In today's common usage of the American version of the English language, there really was no confusion about what he was offering me: a bottle of water. But 30-40 years ago, or in formal usage of the language, that statement simply would not have worked. Still doesn't work in the formal, technically correct, usage of the language. What the hell is "a water"? One drop of water? One molecule?

I'll tag @Dachs since he's teaching the language these days.
Usually English stuns me with its ability to get cruder and cruder, but this is even in German an entirely normal thing. It never even occurred to me as weird, until now.

fancy nonsense if you ask me, dual climate control exists on anything that has closeable, foldable or movable vents. Driver can have 3/4 face vents facing them and passenger can have one pointing to their window instead of their body. It works.

the real 'dual climate' magic would be making the rear seats as vented as the front, instead of having to rely on secondhand AC or heat.

If you really believe that you are going to spend the rest of your life taking care of him, and you don't believe that he will spend the rest of his life taking care of you (that is, if you think this is a one-way thing), you need to do some serious thinking and talking to him before next Saturday.

It is normal to feel anxious about up-coming big life-changing events, even when the foreseeable consequences are great. I hope this is your current situation.

However, I know people who realized before the wedding that it wasn't a good idea but went through with it anyway because it seemed like it was too late to get out. It isn't. Calling off the wedding at the last minute is way better than not if there are real issues.

Actually, Americans drink water like crazy. Where else can you spend $2 to buy a pint of something in a bottle with a designer label that you could get 100 gallons of out of a pipe for the same price?
In a lot of countries, actually.

Perhaps the prevalence of bottled soft drinks in 'Murican cultrual productions (mostly TV, films, ads, etc.) is due to product placement deals then?

I really wish that bottled water was cheaper. It's just freaking water, man. From an economic perspective, it feels very unfair to pay the same price for simple water as I could pay for tea, or juice, or soda. Then there's a sugar epidemic and health problems. I might just be purely projecting here but it feels like we're economically conditioned away from water unless it's from the tap at home.

OTOH can be an initialism for either On The One Hand or On The Other Hand; however, it is used exclusively for the latter.

Every time I get a film when over steeping my tea, which I do every time, I think of Snerk.

Does this edit make it less scary?

I wish you both all the best

No sweat Mary, you got this. Just remember plan B. Should a white grouse arrive with the message "thE doCtoR iS iN", you'll know it's time to initiate operation: "destroy & reboot". God speed.

I too think of you when mildly disgusted. Is.. this love?:love::love:

In the supermarket advertising flyer last week water cost more than soda.

I wish I'd had my ears pierced months ago, like I was planning to. Now it's too late ... this is what I get for procrastinating.

I thought this was because of (electrolytes in) my water as opposed to over-steeped tea. Steeping tea for a shorter time might ameliorate this, but using deionized water would eliminate it, regardless of steep-time, according to my understanding.

Hella ions in my water bro.
