Single Player bugs and crashes - After the 16th of May

I keep going back, further and further and find myself with dozens of unusable autosaves. Is there anything I can do to prevent it happening?

Yes. If you're running the patched version it won' happen for any new saves you make. If it shows up in a save created by the patched version then we need to investigate further.

It can also move to another city. IE what you report is correct behaviour.

Before Astronomy, my Caravel has captured a Trireme. The Trireme, being in an Ocean tile, can't move at all, not even to the adjacent coast.
