I have found an irritating bug. At some stage I wanted to beeline to Paved Roads but I was unable to do this. It turned out that it was impossible to research Concrete tech - I could not select it in the tech screen and when I tried to choose it in the popup window after discovery of some other tech, I was unable to do so (it appeared that I had not chosen any tech to discover). I had to manually "discover" it via WB.

I guess an offending tech is "Water concrete" or so - it is about 2,5x cheaper and IIRC it is a Concrete prequisite but (perhaps) there is no way to discover it.

When you get the message explaining why the hunter 3 and 4 promotions were lost, what reason does it give for them being lost (when you upgrade)?

It just happened when I upgraded. I have 4 others, I will upgrade one of them to see what the exact message was.

I'll check but that is the wrong way round Waterproof Concrete should require Concrete and is a "no brainer" for discovery if you have the requisites. It is included because it was one of the techs the ancients had that was lost (in the West) and rediscovered in the 19-20th Century.

There was an error that I fixed a couple of days ago about Glass Blowing not showing up. It leads to Concrete.

edit yes it is Glass Blowing that was causing the error. Either update to the latest SVN or go into Assets/Modules/My_Mods/Bead_Toy_Pottery/zExtensions/zExtensions_CIV4TechInfos.XML file.

Been that way for a few SVNs (at least a month). Consequently, I performed a new SVN checkout... and I cleared the cache per Joseph's instructions but nada.

SVN: 9239

Sure don't want to have to reload all the software, especially since I loaned out me BTS disc and never got it back.

Yes, indeed. I have downloaded the most recent SVN and everything seems to be O.K. And it turned out there is extra religion in the Prehistoric era, so I founded it next turn :-) Maybe this is my impression so I need to verify that, but Hunters seem to behave a bit smarter.

They always did. They are real national wonders not pseudo ones. There are some to be added which are global wonders. We get that from RI.

Never paid attention to it before, again :old::old::think:
 
"Doctrines" are the world wonders, "Traditions" are the national wonders. The idea is that you can specialize your military without needing yet more units.

Traditions provide at most one building in all cities and a promotion, or it just provides a building or a promotion.

Doctrines, on the other hand, provide access to a promotion line that you can't get any other way. However some of them counter each other. For example if one of your neighbours has the Piracy Doctrine then you can get the Coast Guard Doctrine to counter it. Or at least you would if we had them all up and running.
 
I have found out how to fix the Tech Tree Screen, it appears that while 19 techs vertically wont fit on a screen 20 will. As a temp fix I will move one of the techs currently at yGrid=19 to yGrid=20. Then when Platyping fixes the code I will set it back.

To let everyone know, that this fix to the tech tree, is NOT save game compatible . . . see SVN . .
 
Unfortunately I did not read the thread before updating to SVN9244 .
I confirm that all my save games do not work anymore.

No they don't. :( And some don't even bother to read back a few posts in the same thread. :sad:

Would make our upkeep of the mod less frustrating in many cases. But what can you really do? :p
