Well. Bought the Magicka collection and installed it. My computer is too to play it. My computer sucks

I need to learn to look at the req'd system spec's more. I can play CivIV on low, Torchlight, Guild Wars, Star Wars Jedi Academy, and SW Battlefront.

But not Magicka (or Morrowind, or any Valve Source game)

Got Shogun 2 and Space Marine and Trine 1&2 in the Steam sale

Shogun 2 is fun and very very pretty and exactly the same as the original but dear god the interface makes me want to throw my mouse through the screen, it is just amazingly user-unfriendly. I would have thought they'd have fixed that up a bit in the intervening ten years of these games but if anything it's actually worse. Ah well.

Just got the 2 expansions for Company of Heroes

Good stuff. Shame that the 3rd expansion is kind of weak.

I was considering getting a political campaign simulator and I was wondering, from the people who've played them, which one(s) were the best.

The only one I know is the one on Steam, by Stardock (pre-release I guess). I played the 2004 version which was kind of fun.

I think I mentioned that I got IL2 1946 collection, Stellar Impact, and the Star Wars RPG (first one).
I also picked up some other $2.50 junk as a tech demo. Traded a Portal2 gift for a Dota2 invite for a friend.

Most of my entertainment funds have been going for Summer Sale keys for the Dota2 beta.

I got Crusader Kings II a few days ago, and Terraria a few minutes ago. Both are really good games.

But, CK2> Terraria imo.

I did compare Empire and Shogun 2 a few days ago and must say they did improve the interface. Especially in the campaign mode but didn't change anything in the battle mode. It's still crappy but at least a bit better. The graphics of Shogun are imo awesome. Very consequent style and still a better performance than in Empire.
Also the limited map (Nipon) works much better with the Total War series than the three maps of Empire.

I got Avadon the black fortress at summer sale. I hope there will be enough role play and not just combat.

So Empire is even worse? Jesus. I've actually given up on Shogun 2, I could deal with it when I had three provinces but when I got to ten provinces I spent far more time fighting the campaign interface than fighting actual battles and I quit in frustration. They really let style get in the way of function in a big way.

I'm tempted to try Sengoku instead if it goes on the daily special in the Steam sale....though I heard it was very simplified compared to the rest of the Paradox stable, does anyone know if it's been fleshed out at all since (with dlc or expansions or patches)? Is it worth getting on special?

Darthmod makes it moderately fun and playable, though. Not many RTSes let you conquer both kinds of Indians as US.

Anyway, so far I've spent about $95. I buy almost nothing other than heavily discounted video games the entire year, but I imagine I'll have less stuff to buy from now on since I've bought most of the old games I want.

Picked up Knights of the Old Republic, a bunch of New Vegas DLC, Amnesia and a friend bought me Medieval 2. Didn't much care for M2 besides the battles, unfortunately, and 13 gb is far too large if all I do is play quick battles.
