My guess is that they just did it for fun, or perhaps to differentiate Tench from the actual guitarist on that album.

Well, you could try doing that in Google and that normally ought to work because the name of the letter will probably keep on coming up. Alternatively, you can use the Character Map, which is in Accessories > System Tools if you've got a recent version of Windows, where if you click on a letter you'll see its name shown in the bottom left of the window.

Also this site seems to have an extensive unicode catalogue with names of the characters; if you look half way down the page there's a list of all sorts of different unicode test pages with almost every likely character in there. If you search in google limiting your search to that website you ought to find whatever you're looking for fairly quickly.

I was looking at the liner notes and I see that on one song there are 4 saxophones (!). But I've never heard them. So what's the most likely situation:

a) Whoever did the liner notes fudged up.
b) They're buried so deep into the song that they're not recognizable.
c) I'm going deaf.

Turns out it's option B - the saxes are there, but so buried as to be almost unnoticeable (and frankly the song would sound just the same without them, IMO). That may not have been the case during the recording sessions, but the mixing has reduced those horns to just aural wallpaper.
