The NESer Neptune's Pride Thread!

since people are putting words on the map, I made my own:

Cool :D Here's what that looks like from my end. These are the only Viz stars and ships I have in scan range. Note its now ~500 Viz ships at Subra.

Hmmm, so a full fifth of his forces sit there. That means that once I reach AlphaAlphecca I'll stop and wait for reinforcements there, while on the other side, I would forge up to RhoSadira and then have that arm wait while the other one moved forward.

I'll make a jolly screen with funny labels another time. This is merely an informative descriptor of the standstill along my border - soon to be broken by the invasion of Blue Cross, possibly timed and necessiating redirection of reinforcements to his systems.

EDIT: Here.

This recent game of NP has encouraged me to try it out. Currently I lead with 15 stars to my neighbor's 10. Is there any advice that someone can relate to me on my infrastructure development and research? Currently I have 7 Eco, 11 Ind, and 1 Sci.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

IF you have a good science partner, don't build science early. Build eco and buy science/techs. Use your less than respectable tech rate to research more ignored techs like scanning or hyperspace. When you are in the middle of the tech race, go for high value techs and exchange with cash bonuses.

Terraforming is most important early stage tech. Banking is also important int he early game.

If you plan to invade, a couple more days of ECO, then pour into Industry for a couple days before invasion. Always remain parity until then. If you don't plan to invade, you can keep industry under parity, and focus on econ.

EDIT: Sludge invaded me at the perfect time, it seems. All of my fleets are either broken up, or not yet formed to combat strength yet. I'm not sure whether I should finish Kenny off, or risk letting him live and redirect the vital fleets in the region to plug the holes appearing in my empire.

You must know something about me. When I attack, I don't have a fleet ready to attack. When I defend, I don't have a solid defence. Mobility is the key! The very first instant the wind blows you have to let it hit your sails. And all goes smoothly.

No seriously. The closest fleet I have over 100 is over 30 hours away.

Probably bigger than your whole empire.

Some fast talk, promises, and tribute gave me some breathing room. I can't invade without success until I at least get weapons parity from Tan Serrai or Tunafishsalad. This calls for another Three Day Plan.

Day 1: Pure Economy, Warp Gate Expansion, Fleet Collection Optimization
Day 2: Pure Industry, Manuver Fleets into Position
Day 3: Hold Spending: Commence Invasion, build warp into newly taken systems.

I am as of yet unsure whether to invade Blackswimmers for much needed industry, or invade Sludge before he gets further ahead.

After some hallucination and sickness-induced sleeplessness, I've decided to invade Blackswimmers first, for 3 reasons.

1) I can try to turn sludge against Ragnark. Worse come to worst he invades me again, but this time I'll be ready.
2) Blackswimmers has 100 industry to assimilate!
3) I have an absurd weapons system advantage. I'll message the other brokers to not sell, and go in swinging.

50% of their manufacturing is concentrated in 3 stars. I aim to slip 500+ ships each.

I have made arrangements to acquire weapons 11 for you.

Excellent. I shall not commit redundancies and purchase it myself!

Right now, I'm going pure Scanning Research. What about you guys?

Regardless, at least one of us NESers should get 40+ research and get into the Weapons Systems game.

Tunafishsalad isn't that tough. Ophorian+Tux+Revolt of the Machines would be enough to take him down.

I'm very annoyed at Sludge and Ragnark because they did not fight against a single player. Their expansion, 100%, is funded by NPCs. At least TFS fought Rav and Shadows!

I'd support one of us as a techer. Not me of course. Too poorly positioned. Preferably someone in the NESer heartlands.

Red Circle tries to defend his home system by putting most of what he has on it. Thus, I have decided to halt my offensive to put together a massive fleet close to the 1000 ships to deal a final blow.

I'm pretty tough.

P.S. Hi everybody.
