The Olive Branch Thread

Thread themes. We went through so many gay threads, and Greek threads, then there were like almost ten variations of Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman threads. I remember the halcyon days of Petty threads.

To be fair, most of the Petty threads were parodies and not meant as a serious topic.

It's true - reading this forum for so many years convinced me that i should have no more respect for the greek and polish civilizations.
And sort of on topic, if i had any say in it, i would EXTERMINATE ALL OLIVE TREES ON THE PLANET. Because i HATE olives - they are the fruit of satan and are a plague of this Earth. Also, the first time someone put olives on a pizza was the moment when God abandoned us; after that moment, it was clear that humanity is doomed.

Actually I'm going to half agree here. Olives and olive oil are really, really good. Olives are nasty as sh*t on pizza though.

I like them by themselves and in salads, etc, but don't get 'em near my Pepperoni and Jalapeno pizza dammit!

I think in addition to this thread, we should make a "I challenge you to Mortal Kombat" thread for people to "resolve" their differences --- on a more permanent basis because at the end of a challenge, there is only 1 left standing.

Agreed, but black olives are bland and boring and add zero value to a pizza. I would love it if a pizza chain started putting kalamata olives on their pizzas though.

A number of lighter coloured vegetables don`t work on pizza as they blacken when cooked.

A few timed I`ve responded (mistakenly I`ve come to understand) to him with straight out anger. I didn`t understand the guy and this was poor form.

But a certain degree of tetchiness I think is almost mandatory and I suspect he`d be dissapointed it wasn`t there to respond to.

I now await the obligatory withering correction

Never heard of those olives before, only had black, and they're very delicious in my opinion.
