Should controversial lines "Under God" and/or "Indivisible" be removed from US P

Its not "Under God" like liberals say it is. Its "Indivisible."

That line should be eliminated, burned, and sent to Hell where it belongs.

No nation is indivisible. No nation has an automatic right to exist. And everyone has an intristic right to secede from an oppressive government.

Should "One nation under God, indivisble" be replaced with something else? Perhaps "One nation, founded on secession" ("Under God" can be in or not as suits your fancy, nobody should care) because that's more like what actually happened.

Discuss. Poll coming:

Indivisible was the original part. The under god part was entered by unamerican types.

A pledge of allegiance is kinda creepy to begin with...

If a party starts, as you do, with the presumption that the nation was mandated by God then having it be indivisible isn't too far a stretch.

Hey guys,

I'm 17 and I just figured out the world. Let me tell you about it!

Is it just me or has GW been on a harder libertarian kick then usual lately?

It is a pledge to the Federal government. What do you think its going to say?

It took the UK a century of mutiny before they decided to get an oath from seamen after which the instance of mutiny largely ceased. These oaths are effective. When I first took it I was not in a country that murdered babies. I submit the following revision:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Mob Rule for which it stands, one tyranny, despised of God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all save innocent children."

Truth be told, I don't care much for either the Evangelicals freaking out about the world ending if it is removed, or liberal atheists freaking out that the world is going to end if we keep it. Its not really a big deal.

The "Indivisible" part, on the other hand, denies that secession is EVER possible. Which makes me have plenty of problem reciting it.

Ron Pual Ron Paul Ron Paul

oh

and slavery wasn't all that bad guyz

Note: While I fully expect that secession is going to be discussed in this thread (Since my premise, that there should be no "Indivisible" in the pledge, directly deals with it) but we are not discussing the Confederacy in this thread. I deliberately did NOT mention them for a reason. Frankly, I was kind of curious how many of you would have supported the right to secede for a better reason vs those that would never ever allow secession (Or at least not from any government benevolent enough to ever consider allowing it).

I'm not bashing Lincoln in this thread. I am not saying that the CSA had a right to secede particularly in this thread. I'm discussing whether or not the United States should truly be "Indivisible" or not.

No, I'm just becomming more libertarian;)

While bad, that's not the worst part. Our incessant warmongering is the worst part.

Here's my version;)

I pledge allegiance to the constitution of the United States of America
and to the Republic to create which it was written
To defend her against all tyrants, both foreign and domestic.
One nation, under God (If you need this line, some people do)
Founded on right of secession
With liberty and justice for all.

Ron Paul?

By now you've collect two or three of your very own derail threads plus ones for dead babies. I think you should stay there a while.

Also, Ron Paul.

I pledge allegience to Ron Paul, and to the bravery for which he stands. One congressman, under the Invisible Hand of the Free Market, integrous, with Liberty and Fun Bux available according to the decisions of individual states.

It's clearly not Communist enough.

This, plus the pledge is really creepy anyway.
