TT01: Beating Demigod

Quick answer: I don't see why not. I don't see what Chemistry gets them that we can't beat out of them later.

France will gie us their WM, Economics, Music Theory, and 14 gpt for Metallurgy. I'm not inclined to do this one, but it might have benefits.

I'd say no to that one, we don't need those and why let Metallurgy out.

Quick question: the Vikings will trade Banking for Chemistry, does that seem like a good idea?

Not to me, it doesn't; we have no immediate need for Banking, and we can beat it out of them when we have.

Absolutely not - we get a bunch of useless optionals for a much sought after monopoly.

no to both deals from my side, too. vikes are going to offer us banking with a free side dish when we will have beaten the bad out of them. the optionals are of absolutely no use for us - not for free and sure not for metallurgy.

Hmm, I'm semi-convinced. The only thought I have is that taking the Banking deal might put Vikes closer to something else we can beat out of them, or allow us to beat a city out of them more easily (where we may run into a situation soon where the choice is a tech or a city, if we already have the tech...)

OK, I change my opinion to "no strong opinion". I don't think it's a serious mistake to do that deal though.

The one with France would be silly, though.

I am 2 turns from finishing. I can probably get it done sometime this afternoon. Sorry I've been slow, I'm just so not wanting to screw this up. Good news, we have MT and I am upgrading our Knights to something that will do better vs Muskets. I think in about 4 turns we can get all veteran knights upgraded. A question... would upgrading our Catapults and Trebuchets to Cannons be a good idea right now, or can we take the Vikings with what we have?

I guess upgrading the knights will go fast, as 30 gold per upgrade is a reasonable amount, (we already have 7 Cavalry ready to go) and if we aren't in a hurry for Physics, everything else can be upgraded within 4 or 5 turns. I'm thinking that the Vikings might be getting frisky very soon, as they made peace with the Iroquois and the Inca, so we need to be ready for them.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls - it tolls for Ragnor.

And you're just the man to ring it. ;)

I'd say yes to cannon upgrades, if we have the cash handy and the time to do it. I would even put off a couple turns of research for it.

If we have MT, should we be getting the Military Academy built, or are we going to rely on lucking into yet another leader?

I don't suppose it's the end of the world if there is no pre-build; we can build it from scratch in twenty turns or so, and we won't need it until we attack the beta contnent, which we cannot do until we have Galleons.

There was a pre-build perking along, both for the Military Academy and the Pentagon. Both will finish towards the end of the next turn-set. I will try to upgrade the Trebuchets first, the next player can do the rest or not, depending on how bad we want them.

 Good man.

i am pretty sure i had started prebuilds for even both MT small wonders in my turns... but it´s been quite a while since i have played them. therefore, i am already very eager to see the progress made in the next turns.

Progress and something for Buce to do: Fight a war: The Vikings sneak attacked. We have lost one town and another may fall next IBT. After some initial success defending by attacking their attackers, I tried attacking a town. Big mistake. Even cavalry are stumbling on fortified regular muskets. This is going to take some patience and artillery to win. Fortunately, Buce is better at that than I am. Guys, please forgve my suckiness, I know I'm the weakest player here. Good luck, Buce. Here is the turn-log:

Don't fret, Overseer, you played it well enough for my taste, and a bit of War-Happiness never hurt anyone.

I'm a bit surprised that a resource city was left undefended, though. Edit: Apologies, I mis-read that - I see now that Chondote is a crappy little island town.

taking a look now.....
