Who here is a far-right fanatic, again? The guy carrying the gun? How should I know what he thinks? I'm a little more concerned about the fanatics that wear shirts about a guy that carried and frequently used his guns.
Is your objection (assuming there is one) to the gun itself or to the violence that you may believe in inherently symbolized in the gun or carrying the gun? If you don't like the gun itself, is it just because it's in supposedly close proximity to the president? The president's safety is certainly a concern, but is it a valid enough concern to trample the rights of citizens? (Not suggesting you support such a proposition.)
The 2nd amendment gives you the right to own and carry a gun. It does not give you the right to point a loaded gun at someone over a minor disagreement. Any firearm safety class teaches you not to point a gun at anything you don't intend to shoot.
I'm not claiming you are a far-right fanatic. I am claiming that you have frequently defended them in this forum. Take your posts on South African apartheid and the events in Honduras, for example.
Exactly. You don't usually seem to mind it when right-wing fanatics exercise their constitutional rights no matter how irresponsibly, but your reaction seems to typically be just the opposite when someone who might be a "leftist" does it. Don't they have the same rights under the Constitution?

Did I voice an objection? I was merely showing a stereotypical reactionary "gangsta" proudly "flashing" his firearm in public, as they so frequently do these days.
But bringing military-style weapons to protests where heated arguments and even violence frequently break out? While they may have the right to do so in some states, I think they are clearly acting in an idiotic and juvenile manner for even contemplating it, much less doing so. YMMV.
And once again, I do think that Americans do have the right to own guns both for sport and for personal protection, as I have frequently stated in this forum. This is one area where my opinions tend towards the more conservative.
But I am for responsible gun ownership by people who can use them in a mature manner. "Gangstas" who "flash" them to try to intimidate others or to make an absurd political point at a protest? Not so much.

In Latin America at least, if you rebel against the government and win you're a freedom fighter, if you lose you're a subversive terrorist. Same applies here. If the old man'd been killed, he would be called a martyr terrorised by a lunatic with PTSD from the Iraq war or something.
Hasn't anyone learned that fighting old people is foolish? You always lose. They've been doing this life thing for far longer and are masters of conflict.
