Balance of Power
Curse him for a stupid monkey and watch ASEAN make useless declarations of protest
ComradeDavo said:So, saw some report in the paper today about Bush refusing to rule out a nuclear strike on Iran or something. I really don't think he would be dumb enough to actually nuke Iran, but it got me thinking - if he did what you do about it?
Would you just sit on here and complain? Would you support it? Or would you protest? If you did protest to what extent would it be?
And what do you think consequences of such a strike would be? How would the world react?
Tycoon101 said:4. Go down ot the local supermarket see if stuff is on sale, if not, shoot anyone who is trying to rob the storeThere would be very little government action allowing vigilante justice.
You do realize (I hope) that there wouldn't be any recordings of a nuclear explosion availible to the public... couple reasons for that:Winner said:Well, the first thing would be probably to grab some videotape and record the explosions. Then I would download the footage from the internet and enjoy it.
Enkidu Warrior said:I'd hop on the train to Hiroshima and join the massive protests in the hope of persuading the Japanese government to listen to its people and cut its ties with the US. I'd also lobby my government (UK) to do the same.
I'd boycott US goods and protest in any other way I or others could dream up.
I'd get exasperrated and angry and I'd feel pretty powerless.
But most of all I would mourn for the loss of life past and future, and for the end of a more innocent age.
Tycoon101 said:This is great, heres what I would do:
1. Grin, applaude Bush, call him my hero etc. (Down With Iran)
Ansar_the_king said:I would think its cool that we got to nuke them
So you would applaude the mass killing of many innocent people? You disgust me. I hope you are not being serious.MjM said:Id say "Woot woot, bout time."

Riesstiu IV said:I would check out the GameFAQ's Message Boards. I will then discover numerous posts like, "ZOMFG AMERIKKKA NUK'D EYERAN KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE!!!111 ^_^;" The replies would range from, "omg bush is a bewb" to "bush is a haxor."
Caprice said:You do realize (I hope) that there wouldn't be any recordings of a nuclear explosion availible to the public... couple reasons for that:
1) Any public-owned cameras (media, 'storm chasers, etc.) within visual range would be shut down by the electromagnetic pulse -- not to mention their operators killed (if they're close enough) by the initial blast.
2) Satelites capable of 'seeing' the detonation would be busy with other non-civilian tasks.
3) The government wouldn't want us to see it, at least not immediately.
So... no "enjoying" the footage from the internet, or watching it on TV, or at least I find it extremely unlikely.

I am not joking or exaggerating.
