What would you do if the USA actually nuked Iran?

So, saw some report in the paper today about Bush refusing to rule out a nuclear strike on Iran or something. I really don't think he would be dumb enough to actually nuke Iran, but it got me thinking - if he did what you do about it?

Would you just sit on here and complain? Would you support it? Or would you protest? If you did protest to what extent would it be?

And what do you think consequences of such a strike would be? How would the world react?

Well, the first thing would be probably to grab some videotape and record the explosions. Then I would download the footage from the internet and enjoy it.

Of course it would just reaffirm my belief that Bush is a dangerous fanatic.

This is great, heres what I would do:
1. Grin, applaude Bush, call him my hero etc. (Down With Iran:devil: )
2. Gather arms, find a large metal pipe or sword.
3. Play Civ 4 and go to the CFC and see what you all are saying;)
4. Go down ot the local supermarket see if stuff is on sale, if not, (Edit: Educate) anyone who is trying to rob the store:) There would be very little government action allowing vigilante justice.
5. Go home, play Civ 4, Go to the CFC.
6. Join the military if WWIII starts.

Aren't I a cynic?

Not sure why you would do this now as opposed to any other time...

I'd prepare for half of my family's funerals.

By the way, all the people saying that this would be a good move, I want to ask you something. What happened to all that rhetoric about the US being a society where you are innocent till proven guilty?

Would your president really be willing to nuke a country on no greater basis than "they are making bombs, I knowz it!!11". Why should Iran be executed without even a trial, much less being proven guilty.

You have no proof that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. If you say do, its probably the same proof that you "had" against Iraq. And if you actually do, why isnt it being shown to the world?

Innocent till proven guilty my (bleep).

You do realize (I hope) that there wouldn't be any recordings of a nuclear explosion availible to the public... couple reasons for that:

1) Any public-owned cameras (media, 'storm chasers, etc.) within visual range would be shut down by the electromagnetic pulse -- not to mention their operators killed (if they're close enough) by the initial blast.
2) Satelites capable of 'seeing' the detonation would be busy with other non-civilian tasks.
3) The government wouldn't want us to see it, at least not immediately.

So... no "enjoying" the footage from the internet, or watching it on TV, or at least I find it extremely unlikely.

I'd hop on the train to Hiroshima and join the massive protests in the hope of persuading the Japanese government to listen to its people and cut its ties with the US. I'd also lobby my government (UK) to do the same.

I'd boycott US goods and protest in any other way I or others could dream up.

I'd get exasperrated and angry and I'd feel pretty powerless.

But most of all I would mourn for the loss of life past and future, and for the end of a more innocent age.

very offtopic comment, but i just wanted to say i wish more people followed your religion.

If the US did nuke Iran, I would like to think that I would buy a rifle, a bunch of ammo, an emergency heat blanket, a large tent and flee into the forests of the northwest until things calm down.

Not true. It is possible to film nuclear explosions, from safe distance, of course. I guess the US would use some of the low-yield tactical warheads against military targets, which are definitely not big enough to shut down cameras in visual range.

2) Satelites capable of 'seeing' the detonation would be busy with other non-civilian tasks.

I am pretty sure that all commercial satellites capable of monitoring the Middle east would be directed at Iran should the war happen.

3) The government wouldn't want us to see it, at least not immediately.

The Iranian government, on teh contrary, would want us to see that ;)

I hope you're wrong. I want to expand my collection of nuclear clips, videos and movies.

If that were to happen, I'd kill the nearest American I could get my hands on.

I am not joking or exaggerating.
