I can understand that, and I do like the photoshopped eyes and other features. I guess calling it constructive criticism is a misnomer because it isn't a one-size-fits-all sort of thing, and is maybe not very constructive to people with a different viewpoint.

I like walls of text, personally.

I prefer pictures in updates, I find pictures with a description underneath help me to imagine what happened and how things look. I do consider myself having good imagination and I do read books that have no pictures in them (Les Misrables (Spelling?) is soon done moving onto Game of The Thrones then (English version)). I would like if there would be pictures describing the atmosphere, but I can do without. Then again, I can participate in NES'es which have no pictures.

If the moderator is good enough, you don't need pictures.

That said, I have occasionally resorted to them. :3 But if you do use them, they have to be deployed tastefully and sparingly. Library of Congress frescoes, realist Polish painters, etc. Use the highest quality art that has been produced for your medium.
