While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

It is many hours behind. It says my last post was one from yesterday or the day before (in Sunny Nations).

There's several issues with boardreader, such as selectively choosing posts to list and fragments at best, being behind many hours as spryllino mentioned, and skipping whole threads all together. However, I did get some SymNES information off of it, but now that has seemingly disappeared from the site.:(

I'm working on my NES update, but like Ninja mentioned, I've been having a few RL issues, which have radically limited my updating ability. However, I don't want to pull the plug on a promising world like that of LINESIII, so it's still quite alive.

Hello. Long time no see. Jumping in to say hello; I miss CFC and the NES forum, and perhaps I'll return for the duration of the summer. How are things, everyone? :)

Better for your return old friend :)

That's the plan. Your NES piqued my interest to much to stay away, and I need a distraction from all this damned pleasure reading I'm doing :p

The forum feels like its slowed down a bit. Are there not as many NESes going, is it just a lull or am I an old fogey with a "it just ain't how it used to be" complex? It makes me feel really old that I joined 5 years ago. And I really have no right to feel old yet.

LJ? Swissempire?!

I highly approve of these developments!

I'm too lazy to multi-quote right now as I just woke up; I'm really happy for the "Welcome backs" all, it means a lot.

I hope I can stay for a while. (I just started playing Allods casually, btw, it's a great free MMO. Google, install, start, befriend me.)

@Swissempire - When I left, activity was insane. I blame bad organization from this decrease in NESing. We must return to avenge in the name of DOOM or something

I think it's mostly seasonal. I know I would be more active if it weren't for the end of the academic year and all that; I suspect it's not that different outside of Russia. Things usually aren't all that active during summer, though maybe I'll be doing something about it this year (not sure which something, though).

Anyway, good to see some old faces return.

That's pretty much true, as EQ has essentially left and his consistent updates which were around for some 2 years with him, NK has failed to restart N3S III (again), Thy's NES died, Dachs is having problems updating, Daft doesn't have any of his various NESes going, and the list goes on.:(

I'd say the decline in activity is far too much due to the fact that experienced NESers don't join unexperienced mods' NESes. Look at AgentNES and look at which NESers are in control of the best nations; look how few experienced NESers joined CitiNES. Thus, one ends up with only the mods with reputations being able to mod NESes properly. Milarqui's, Nutranurse's, Moosewarrior's, and TheLizardKing's are in similar positions: they either lacked players or they are full of inexperienced ones.

Meanwhile, experienced (and otherwise good) mods end up setting up NESes that are outstandingly slow, but still get all the best players.
